Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread
When Marat loses it's not because he got outplayed it's because he played the worst match of his career, or because the balls are like stones and hot and it's too windy or because he doesnt like the court and it's not one of the tournaments he does well at
when someone takes an injury timeout at 4-5 deuce in the fifth set of a slam to have his blisters popped it's called gamesmanship..

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread
Lundgren is a cool guy, he seems to have a very good aura about him. In the way that he can motivate his players and he is not in it solely for himself.
I read somewhere earlier in the thread, that many people expect instant great results, it doesn't work like that all the time, and in a way it's more rewarding that it doesn't happen like that, when the great performances come.
GWH, I see your point and that's the same with people who jump on the bandwagon when things are going well. That is one thing that is definitely not the case here, the Safin fans are very loyal and have to be patient to put up with the enigma that he is.
At the same time it's not easy for some people to be semi-objective as true objectivity is virtually impossible about their favourite players. In an ideal world that would happen, but we know it's not ideal.
Better example when Federer killed Marat in the Hamburg final, there is no way it could be called "oafing".
Kiara, I understand that when it comes to Wimbledon.

yess I remember that match, it was sensational! Roger just wiped the floor with Marat...Marat struggled very hard to comeback he didnt just give the match away after being rolled over in the first set, I was very proud of the way Marat fought back, it took alot of spirt, but roger was the man on that day...great match..

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread
That was a tough day for Peter with that performance but Ferrero is a tough opponent and no after this loss this does not mean Peter needs to be sacked.

Hi George! LOL, of course it doesn't mean Peter needs to be sacked! I'm pretty calm already. Nice of you to drop by George!

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread
I am a bit protective of Lundgren in some ways, but there is Barcelona next week and that always has a good field.

No one is saying that, George.
Hey, congrads on your 15 000th post. I vaguely remember congratulating you on your 10 000th - man, you're productive!

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread
We've been pretty hysterical out here last night, but now - what can we do, really? Sad and resigned, kind of. Looking forward to BArcelona.
Is the forecast for Monte-CArlo still bad? I'was looking forward for the Guillie match to cheer me up. And good luck to Gaston.
