Ugly fh is a spoiled brat but he is right here. He was clearly the better player. The only reason he lost was because they weren't playing on a real surface. Bratbis

While normally player talk a lot of bla bla at press conferences, Gulbis really speaks outright here and makes his point.

Still he gives Rafa credit and acknowledges him as a Champion, but clearly points out that he was the better player.

Do you like this kind of analysis or do you prefer the boring "It was a tough match" bullshit.
Gulbis is a mug. He is a joke who has zero achievements and still talks shit like anyone cares. Maybe he should concentrate on his pathetic career instead of trying to sound important, because nobody cares. Gultrash isn't fit to lick Nadal's boots. Pathetic player.

In football the better team can lose. See Man Utd-Bayern in 99 or Milan-Liverpool in 2005. So it's possible for the same in tennis. All the stats except UEs were in GOATbis's favour. He was the better player. But Nadal, like Man U have done for years, eked out the W.

No he's not.

Nadal would have stomped Shitman 6-0 6-1

Did I talk about Nadal ? We're talking about good unseeded players for the French Open, not the player who can beat Nadal.

It depends on the draw but I guarantee you any seeded player would rather face Boredo than GOATbis. Boredo is a scrub with zero weapons who got the beating of a lifetime at the 2007 US Open.

Most athletes think of themselves as the best. Gulbis isn't trying to sell an image so he can get away with saying it unlike some other players.

Robredo is a better player than Gulbis on clay, and that was the question asked.

This. at anyone fearing Shitman.

If anything Gulbis is being way too modest, he's superior to all but 7 seeded players - those being Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, Murray, Del Potro, Tsonga and Berdych.

It's pretty ridiculous to suggest Robredo is a more dangerous proposition than Gulbis, and this is coming from someone who doesn't dislike Tommy, as most others seem to.

And yet Robredo's 2013 clay results are much stronger than Gulbis

Who did Gulbis beat on clay this year ? Verdasco and Isner. Two out of form players.
Robredo beat Wawrinka, Paire, Dimitrov, Berdych. Those players are in form player this clay season. And he gave a greater scare to Raonic in Barcelona, Raonic who dismissed Gulbis in 2 the round before.

So yup, it's not because Gulbis had one of his good week in Rome that he's the best unseeded player in the next slam.

So just cause one player goes and vultures a MM it makes him the bigger clay threat in RG.

Boredo won Casavulturechallenger, big deal. GOATbis isn't a vulture so he didn't go there. Rosol's Bucharest title is more impressive than Shitman's. Wawrinka didn't care about that Casavulture tournament, as we've seen in Oeiras and Madrid when he's playing a serious event.

BTW Nieminen (x2) is a bigger scalp than Dimitrov and Paire, easily.

Makes as much sense as one player having his trimestrial good week being considered a threat in RG while he actually did nothing on clay for the whole season (when not in his GOAT mode that he can't maitain for 3 matches anyway).
