What a thrilling, drama-filled match! Well deserved win, Grisha! His shot making today was unreal! The match should have been over in 2 sets, but oh well...

Very proud of Grisha today, he is finally coming of age!

Of course he is. After all he deprived Federina of 2 CYGS, 6 consecutive Wimbledon titles and made her cry in front of millions of people like a little bitch

Madrid is a joke clay HC event.
Very true.Excellent post.

Also we can say that Novak schooled Roger several times in the past, and won 2 epic matches in US Open..

When Novak and Roger play their best, it is the best tennis that we can watch. But they rarely play it in the same match throughout the whole match, both have ups and downs...

Novak is good enough to beat any player when he plays 100%...I can say that Roger best is slighty better then Novak best, but that is a hell of a match...

Novak has a problem this year cause he didnt played his best in early rounds like in 2011...his mind is in clash with Rafa on clay, especially on Roland Garros...

Today he was off balance, without focus, couldnt convert many BP... with Grigor best match in career, and Novak subpar match, score is tight...

Nevermind, Grigor deserve to win today, glad for him, hope that he is mentally mature, that this win isnt fluke...we see...

well , federer was at his bests in the last years???? no.

it`s very difficult that two players who have a difference of 5 or 6 years can play both at his best.

poor guys this evilbulgaria , he is out of his mind since nole humilliated his hero in his best tourny

Same as Federer's .

Only guy on tour who can crush nadal is Novak Djokovic.

No one else here cant beat Nadal on clay.
i'll disagree on that. grigor like i mentioned before reminded me of guga kuerten on clay. he is also of the same height. he is taller than federer and also has a bigger tennis racquet head (more forgiving) and longer wing span although he is not as fast as federer yet. those extra cm can make that looping top spin from nadal within his windmill. but he still has to prove that

my my..

a sub-par rafa defeated a healthy dimitrov 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in monte carlo..

a healthy nole lost to an injured dimitrov in madrid 6-7(6), 7-6(8), 3-6..

this result makes me appreciate rafa's effort in monte carlo all the more, even at his worst..

incidentally, it looks like rafa's prospects this clay-court season, including an historic 8th french open crown, just got a little bit sweeter..

by the way, i wasn't able to watch this match.. did 'classy' nole break any racquets or brutalize any courtside furniture today? just curious..
