Default Closing a live scoring thread?

What is up with that? Never seen that on any forum. And, of course, received a waring for being a part of discussion elsewhere.
There is zero justification for closing a thread due to a few posters speculating about gamesmanship (which it clearly wasn't IMO, but you shouldn't stop people from speculating)

Seems totally reasonable for, you know, discussing a tennis match on a tennis forum

It has nothing to do with discussing gamemanship. It has something to do with recieving an extreme amount of reports and posters insulting other posters. It is perfectly fine to discuss the match, but the normal site rules still count.

You can send me a pm if you wish to discuss your warning.

I think receiving any form of warning for attempting to discuss a live match is a bit ridiculous, to be honest

You should close the thread and start a cleansing operation.

I am just glad stupidity is not contagious.

why would the rules be different for discussing a live match vs one that's finished? Why should that thread be treated differently than any other? Other threads get locked when some flame wars get out of hand (and that also punishes innocent users who wanted to post there).

So if it's a live match you should be allowed to say anything?

I never said anything inflammatory at all. I continued to comment on the match after they closed the thread.

And closing a live match thread makes it impossible to discuss the ongoing match, the main thing I signed up here to do

Why is a super mod who is obviously a Djokovic fan allowed to close the livescoring thread when his "tactics" are clearly at their most controversial. Regardless of what you think happened in the match or in the thread, doesn't that seem like a conflict of interest?

Though I will give Andreas credit for displaying who he is a fan of openly, most of the mods do not and it takes a long time observing them to discover where they are biased (not naming names but there is a certain mod who is an extremely biased Nadal fan with extreme powers to censor any Nadal thread for example).

I understand that people who care about tennis are the only ones who will be mods and some impartial judge who only cares about the rules of MTF is impossible. But surely there should be a system to remove conflict of interest. I admit fully if I was a mod I would do a poor job policing Federer threads because I'm emotionally involved.

Those are some bold allegations SliceAce. I am eagerly waiting for you to present the evidence to support your statements. I'd hate to think you'd come here and make allegations such as these without having some solid support for what you're saying.

We didn't always have a livescoring thread, nor do we have to have one. Like any thread, if it gets out of hand, it may be temporarily closed, as was the case here.

How is sliceace not banned yet?

I've reported numerous counts of his rule breaking, nothing is done, yet I get banned for simply calling a poster a mug....
