Sure. He has a big issue with UEs this year. But at least he's improved a lot on the attitude. Until now it was: plenty of UEs, and a really passive / "I'm lost on the court" attitude.
His serve was also much better than I've seen it in some time (I mean in the second set).

Also, when the opponent puts you out of your comfort zone, you are bound to make more UEs, trying to go for more when you really aren't capable of.

Exactly. These people thinking Ferrer has any say in the outcome of matches really need to get a clue. Wawrinka is simply the better player of the two, better server, stronger off both wings, more proficient at the net... when he's executing well it's curtains for Ferrer.

Mark Lenders must be satisfied now

Vulturer Losing by exactly the same score as beating Seppi yesterday.
Can't wait to see what he does at RG. His form is a very mediocre at the moment.

(Good for Wawrinka though, seriously)
This.

Lesser mug won today.

Congrats Wawa.

I hope being able to see Ferrer lose in real life made up for the fact that Del Potro didn't play and you got Ferrer instead.

Stan needs to win a slam. I think he has the talent for it but the brain is not there. Why he has not defeated the old master in slams and has had some puzzling performances against him is beyond me. He almost beat Nole but the umpire cheated him on break point. Let's hope that's not the defining moment of his career.

Ferrer nowadays is only shadow of the Ferrer 2012.

Stan deserved to win, he simply outplayed David. I'm happy to see him lifting another trophy after so long time. Hope it will boost Stan's confidence before more important tournaments. Next week he'll probably face Novak, maybe he will give him some fight.

Ferrer in poor form, maybe he wants to give 4th place to Rafa before RG. With such play he can succeed

Beautiful shotmaking by Wawrinka in the first set, the second one he played safe but it was enough against vulnerable Ferrer.
Surprised it's only 4th career title for Stan. He's talented enough to win more than that.

Except that Ferrer was executing on his aggression a lot better in the second set than the first.

I'm not saying Ferrer would have won had he played better, just that it wouldn't have been a complete blowout. The tendency is to think that only the players you support can have dips in level. Everyone else is just constant all the time, so it all depends on your player. I think that's what we see whenever Ferrer plays. He's a superhuman machine, so can't have good or bad days.

Stan is the man. Growing up in Federer's shadow must've been tough for him, espesicially whilst his fellow country man was getting all the media love and attention. Stan must have been a little jealous and mentally weakened by the fact Fed was so good.

It's not to late for Stan, he is in his late 20's and could still have a dream run in his twighlight years. Great for him to win this great for his confidence after his loss to Djoko King.
