the brits are really stretching to find acceptable british WC's by the looks of their choices.

Hardly stretching. Ward and Evans were obvious choices given their Davis Cup performances and in Ward's case ranked close to top 200, Corrie has performed very well this year and Edmund is our best junior.

How is it weaker ? When Nadal and Djoko played it, they almost always tanked (after 2008 that is )in QF or even earlier. Who needs tanking superstars anyway ?

I think list is pretty strong,more top10 players than in Halle and considering only Tsonga was deep in RG,top players should be fresh and eager to play for trophy. I hate pre-slam tanks, it is more honest to skip Wimby warm-up completely if dont want to play all tournament.
