Are we allowed to know what were poster's double accounts?

It will be interesting to know who was goatdal, baseline28 for example, and many other cases

Nothing wrong at all with the thread, but I think it's more suited for Non Tennis or even Chat section. It's not only about tennis IMHO.
Thanks for letting us know, man. It got off-topicIZED.

+ It's not questioning the validity of a specific ban, but how they rules are being applied to the poster in general. Also, I'm pretty sure pfl has not gotten an infraction for EACH OF THOSE THREADS, so I don't believe your answer will suffice.
When it comes to trolling infractions with regards to users constantly creating threads just to target a player or certain players, it's generally a long term process. First the threads are simply monitored and some will be deleted of course.. After that the user generally gets a polite PM or ordinary warning telling them to stop creating so many threads (especially match threads and WWW threads) just to whack on certain players, or just show their discontent for their existence. Only after all that is ignored do infractions and bans start happening.

I've spoken to several posters myself regarding their habit of creating these types of threads (usually attacking Nadal or Federer whenever they play/lose) and the majority of them have been cool with it, and create more threads about their faves instead these days. No harm done, no bans, no messy arguments. As Slasher said, we shouldn't be talking about individual bans, but you I'm sure you get what I'm saying, Dylan.

Unfortunately not mate. That information is between the poster(s) in question and mods. But you can feel free to go all CIA and hunt them down in your own time and politely ask them who they are yourself. Never know, you might hear more than one voice..

For instance, I think it is pretty relevant to disclose that Nick the Greek was rutinos harcos since, you know, the guy goes around stalking MTF members and threatens them with their lives outside of MTF.

Mods/admins have access to certain personal information of users, and this includes their infraction/ban history. If you want to disclose any info to others, that's your choice, but mods can't just go gossiping about things forumers/ex-forumers might not want others' to know.

I know all of this sounds kinda boring, even I fell asleep half way through writing that. But these are the rules of the playground.

I get that these are the current rules but why the choice to protect the usernames behind the double accounts? You're not revealing anything about the private life of the MTF poster by revealing his double account. You're not even mentioning his/her real name but it would be linking a double account username with the original username. Both usernames offer enough privacy as such (unless they are stupid enough to use their actual names on a forum like MTF).

I honestly don't see the invasion of privacy.

I can see why they'd want to keep that hidden. Let it all out in the open and it'll make it harder to play more tricks and games on other posters.
However, you're protecting those who break forum rules to the detriment of other MTF posters.

I see what you're saying, and it does seem like those using DAs are being undeservedly protected. However, from my own perspective, I can see why this rule has been in place for mods to abide by all this time. There are numerous examples of forumers who have messed around on the forum breaking rules, creating DAs etc, but then return from their bans and eventually become positive contributors to the forum. Everyone has the ability to change for the better, even on a forum and everyone deserves the chance to be allowed to do so without having a stigma attached to them due to their past misdemeanors. Yes, there will always be a few who will just keep making DAs and disrupting the forum, but they get permanently banned eventually, and there's no need to talk about them again after that point.

But isn't stating that they got banned by multiple accounts doing that already?

Well, there is a slight difference between having two accounts in order to play games together with someone who never forgets to send unless you forget yourself, and two accounts in order to make trouble. Stating someone is banned for multiple accounts doesn't specify what he used them for.

If you are in the ban list, people would usually assume that the double account was used for the latter(and it usually is) so it really won't make much of a difference.

Well, that's the risk people take by creating DAs. We just won't make the situation worse by revealing to the entirety of MTF who exactly each DA is affiliated to, and let them do the guessing until the hype dies down on its own. Obviously, many alert forumers will figure it out on their own, but there's nothing we can do about that. let's say you (as a positive member of the forum) created a DA and pranced around the forum trolling everyone in sight, making enemies left right and center. Then while you're banned you have mods going around telling everyone who your DA was.. Won't be very nice for you on your return, and I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate mods behaving that way in the first place.

So it all just comes back to the earlier point- infractions/bans are between the forumer and mods. This means all types of infractions, not just some.

If I'm not mistaken, only the fake username gets mentioned. You never see the original username.

If you get banned for other reasons, you will see your original username appear on that list so that's no longer between the MTF poster and the mods by the looks of it.

I honestly don't understand why people who create double accounts get this much protection vs other MTF posters who break forum rules but it's pretty much a closed debate since mods have made up their minds about it.

This is not something mods have decided upon. It is a given. Just like a judge will have to deliver his sentences based by law, not personal opinion. The forum owner is the place to go to if you want rules changed, not the mods, just like you would try your luck with politicians rather than judges if you want to change the law.

Actually, I've never seen the fake username mentioned. I've noticed a lot of banned users with very few posts who never appear on the banned list. They must be the new fake DA's of old posters.
