Might as well change the title or start a new thread, this is a moot point now.

Big of you to admit you were wrong

Unfortunately the only thing Vulture has over him is that one thing delPo needs the most: fitness and especially resistance to injuries. Those are completely wasted on such a harmless player as Ferrer; imagine del Potro if he could stay consistently healthy, now that'd definitely shake things up big time at the top of the game.

If Delpo stays injury-free the rest of the year, he'll likely be #5 or #6.

Ferrer being injured?

Or Federer's decline, meaning that the top 5 is Djokovic-Murray-Nadal-Ferrer-Delpo?

Lol what? Anyone who watched today's match and still thinks Ferrer is anywhere near the same league as del Potro as a tennis player needs to choose a different sport to follow asap. May I suggest athletics, namely the marathon?

Being new to the sport doesn't even cut it as an excuse in this case because the match in question took place today.

Arguably 4th best, and quite possibly 3rd best on hard courts.

Lmfao imagine it had been vulture against Nole instead of Juan.

Vulture fans like Fed in 2 and DM would have excuses like "it was only vultures first wimbledon semi final".

Apart from that Wimbledon run, where he played really good on a bad knee, and IW, this has been another season to forget for Delpo, certainly worse than 2012. I am wondering if is it worthwhile for him to do a Nadal take a lengthy hiatus to heal his body and get a new fitness regiment. I thought he should have done that after Rome when he decided to skip RG. He would have probably also missed Wimbledon and returned in Montreal (3 months rest). It is time for him to start scheduling better. What did that Washington DC platter do for him now??

This argument for Delpo in thread title will soon be redundant if keeps spinning his wheels like this because he is on his way to be never heard from again..

I have absolutely no idea why Del Potro didn't go hell for leather on his fitness when he initially sustained the wrist injury in late 2009 until his real comeback in 2011. There's ]no excuse for that.

The time has unfortunately come to consign Del Porto to history, along with Johansson, Gaudio and Costa.

And yesterday it was not even wholly about Hewitt; even GGL would have outlasted him in the fifth had he won that 4th set tiebreaker in R1..There is no way around it now, he just needs to sort out his health/fitness woes-- that is anything he can control in that department..
