On a related note, does it happen often that there is no winner?
Aiming for the final with no pick was the thing to do today if you're most interested in maximising ranking points. Several players will go for the titles, though, preferring a slam title and three early exits to a more point-scoring total with no title.

There will more often than not be a winner in the slams. One winner in RG last year. Four winners in AO this year. In masters tournaments, it happens more often nobody wins. For Indian Wells and Miami it is especially difficult given the amount of playing days and also the 32 byes ensuring there are no semi-big names to see you through round 1 - and in the US there are few "exotic" WCs with no hope of winning a match. Nobody won any of those this year or last (for last year I go by ranking points falling off in the ranking thread, I didn't play then). And I myself has won three small tournaments (joint with others), each time reaching the final with no pick. So it's no surprise titles are sought after, they are difficult to get. You see several has them in their sigs.

This too? You've got to be kidding me. The loss was heart-breaking enough as it is. It ruins my first good FITD and even lost a bet on it. Perfect loss-loss-loss(-loss-loss) result.

Better for me, Wawrinka is one of my favourites and I had a small bet on him. Plus I wanted the average age record for the QF to be more impressive, and Stan is a bit older than Richie. Seven R4 matches were won by the older man, only Djokovic bucked the trend.

My betting day turned out quite positive, total +156 more than makes up for yesterday's loss and I'm still solidly placed in record territory. I've also reached 101 bets. My only remaining unfulfilled goal for the tournament is to reach 10000 credits won gross. I'm at 9598 now (and 4610 lost, net 4988). Don't know if I'll make it, I'm starting to feel conservative...we'll see.

Sorry Pratik, I will have the same situation for tomorrow, If I want to have a shot in FITD, I need that Ferrer lose but that will cost me the elimination in ST, (I put Berdych in SF )

I bet 1250 in Wawrinka I have a plus of 875

This is my second tournament so far only 200 behind Barcelona

Thanks guys.

Wawrinka is one of my favourites too, but of course not so when he is playing Gasquet. Stan is even my most succesful player bet on and by a huge margin, more than double then second best. Should have bet on him. Gasquet has dropped a lot of late, and is now out of my top 10.

Still a positive day for me in terms of vBetting. +68 overall, due to my won bet on Llodra/Mahut. Even with a bad day yesterday, RG is at +3458 which is my third best tournament this year(don't have tournament numbers from last year), but is way behind the top two, Dusseldorf at +17k and Estoril at +9k. In terms of number of bets, it is at a measly 38 and needs 13 more to enter my top 5 for the year which won't happen.

@bry17may: Ferrer losing tomorrow will cause almost everyone left to be eliminated

Tomorrow: may go against my rule and place a large bet on Ferrer. And a bet on Federer

I've made my bets for tomorrow:
Federer 320 (3/5)
Ferrer 960 (1/16)

Not much to win on the Ferrer bet, just want to inch closer to 10000 gross credits won without risking too much of my record profit.

Tried to find odds on doubles, was only one match available.

I don't understand Betfair, tbh. Cuevas/Zeballos vs Bednarek/Janowicz appear to have both at 1.14, ridiculous odds. What am I not getting there? odds look normal on the Bryans match.

Now that's quite a mistake! They must have meant to put 1.14 and 3.14.

Was going to break my rule to bet on Ferrer, thinking he would be at about 0.15. 0.06 is ridiculously low. no bet.

100 on Kas/Marach. I bet against the Bryans too often. Odds are just too good to pass up.
100 on Llodra/Mahut.
800 on Federer. This is a real deja-vu match for me. I was traveling the night of their Wimbledon QF. Left home to catch a long flight almost immediately after the match got over. Catching the same long flight today. (although won't get to watch more than set and a half).
Will put a 100 bet on Bednarek/Janowicz t0o once it is up. (Guessing it would be @3.5-4)

Does vBetting now work on the VS app? I remember that it didn't initially.

On another note, just realised that if Gasquet had won, I would have been #1 in FITD. Oh, well.

Very bad odds on Ferrer and I don't like to bet on doubles yesterday I bet 500 on Qureshi (but well I didn't count doubles matches, DC Winners or Outright winner in my stats).

My only bet will be 1250 in Federer, I hope that he can do it .

Oh! Didn't notice that.

Still a good FITD for me. I mentioned in the thread that I have never been in top 10 at any stage of the 8 FITDs I have participated in(9 including the doubles FITD). So, a good improvement. Hopefully, I can make a top 20 at the end, which also I do not think I have ever done before. But, for that, I probably need everything to go in my favour now! Oh well, there's always next time.
