Seriously, Guido?

Absolutely horrific loss. Williams is average at best and should not be allowed to win ATP-level matches this easily.

Guido had chances, but he hasn't improved at all, he'll be back on challengers, just a matter of time. Pathetic serve&volley try at 5-5 BP down in 2nd set.

Guido was up a break in the 2nd set too and I thought he would control the match from there. Every time you think one of these younger guys are going to break through you see a result like this and realize the future of tennis does not look to good.

Hopefully he won't go the way that Stebe did after winning the Challenger year ends.

So average players can't have the same privileges as good players. I guess the caste system exists in tennis. I learn something new everyday.

It is surprising b/c it is clay and his opponent is a true claycourter. But I will gladly take it even if Pella didn't play well. Let's go Rhyne!

SapELee, I didn't mean it like that.

I think the superior clay-courter, and perhaps player, in this case - Pella - should not be allowing Williams to win these kind of matches.

Pella isn't a true claycourter though. I'd argue he is better on hard courts. And he is certainly ranked way too high.

Anyways, I picked this in PAW for a reason

But he is still more experienced on clay than Williams. The last time I saw Rhyne on clay prior to this match, his movement was I'm happy to see that he has improved in this department, though still has a long way to go.

Good win Rhyne! Pella is ranked way too high for his level, IMO.

not sure if serious, but all his titles are on clay except for Manta CH and CH Finals. that makes 9 titles on clay out out of 11 titles won. all his doubles titles are on clay....

I don't think anything of Williams, but this is an overreaction.

Pella hasn't established himself enough for this to be shocking or "horrific".
