Job kind of sucks because I have very little to do and there has been some internal conflict lately but pays relatively well.

Road trip is in an unknown status. It should probably be somewhere close. Perhaps Ecuador-Colombia-Venezuela for 3 months or so, spending as little as possible. Big turnoff: I'd have to go on my own.

uhhhh why not just build up a bunch of sick/holiday leave and do a little less epic than 3 month road trip?

unless you're confident you can get another nice job I wouldn't do it.

I mean usually I actually would say "go for it!" but it really depends on your financial status and credentials I suppose

Going alone doesn't have to be a bad thing, you'd meet plenty of people along the way.

Yes but only if you do it on a motorcycle and keep a diary of your adventures.

Depends. Do you believe you only live once, twice or three times?

I suggest you update your CV/resume and re-work on your interview skills before heading off, so you have a head start for the big job hunt when you return from your adventure.

Boring jobs can be bad for your mental health in the long run anyway, so if it's that dull and you feel you're in a good position financially in life already, a career break sounds as if it would be beneficial to you. Does logging in to MTF come into your plans during those 3 months?
