Default WG QF: Rosol def. Golubev 4-6 6-4 6-2 7-6 (6) (CZE 2-0 KAZ)

Of course this was a fine battle of tactics. Golubev served for the 4th set at *5-4, but couldn't get it done.

Rosol was the steadier and delivered Golubev's first defeat at home in a DC tie. Not bad from the reserves to be leading 2-0

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Not such a difficult task to defeat a choking mug like Craplubev

From my calculation, Rosol will reach his carreer-high ranking at 54 or better.

(I assumed that one can't cumulate the 65 points from a win in Davis cup quarterfinal with the 10 points from playing a live rubber iwthout winning in the first round, which I think I checked in previous years but I've not documented it well then I'm not 100% sure : if anybody gave me an example, I would be reassured )
I think that is wrong...Calculations show he should be around 51 with this win

I think you are right but I have him with 810 points, sitting at #52 in the rankings, tied with Ramos at #51

I think for this win he only got 57 points...753+57=810

If he had 75 points from Davis Cup he would be at 753+65=818

There is a 2 point discrepancy somewhere...Who knows from where

He should be at 51 or 52 I think! Ready to crack the Top 50

but even if I have not documented it, I think I checked that it's not possible (it's possible to cumulate with the points from play-offs but that's something else)
The rules don't mention anything about the 10 points from R1 loss being a special case but I guess we'll find out next Monday.

[quote=duong;14485354]the Davis cup result has to replace the worst optional result before, which was 18 points[/

Are you sure the worst optional result is 10 and not 18? All I know is that I have him at 51 or 52 and I am sticking with that story Guess the rankings on Monday will show

The exact explanation is this one:

Rosol has 10 DC points, which are out of his countables.

With this win he gets to 75 DC points, 10 for R1, 65 from QF.

This 75 replaces his worst result of 18 points, thus he gains 57 effective points.

MTF's dream match this. No pushing, tactics, topspin, rallies or brain use whatsoever in this one.

Thanks, that makes sense!! I knew I had 810 as being right...So will he be at 51 or 52? If you are tied with someone, doesn't the player playing that week or reaching those points come first in the rankings?
