Default 4.7 Magnitude Earthquake Felt in Indian Wells... Raises Interesting Question...

The center of the earthquake was about 120 miles southeast of Los Angeles... so basically within 30 miles of Indian Wells. It happened around 10AM local time.
Brett Haber and Tracy Austen say it was definitely felt in the area. No major damage reported in the immediate area and none at Indian Wells.

Aftershocks are expected throughout the afternoon... and this raises and interesting question...

The initial earthquake occurred before play started. But what if an aftershock was felt during a match. Do they call a let? Play it out?
Would they possibly suspend play for a short while to make sure everything is all right???

What do you guys think? I mean, I'd be scared shitless if I felt an earthquake while I was playing tennis...

If Federer loses he will blame an aftershock no doubt, it will be a similar situation for him as to what happen in Shanghai in the rain.

I remember I was once at tennis practice while an earthquake had been happening. No one at the courts even felt it at the time. I'm guessing it wasn't as strong as the ones that happen in California, but still, earthquakes are barely felt outdoors, unless they are really major.
If it's only aftershocks there is no way it can affect play.

Play through it. Even if tsunamis are imminent.

all points played during a earthquake are valid and play should not be suspended according to the rule book.

Seems like Murray is destined to win this tournament. Unbeatable in natural disasters

Probably we need some of them in Wimbledon, so that way Murray can win a second slam

If players reacted the same as you it might be advisable to allow a break for a change of clothes

Rumour has it this earthquake was caused by Berlocq's arrival in the valley.

LMAO the earthquake was too minor to be felt by an Englishman

(but Tracy Austin and the other Cali natives recognized it instantly)

I feel suspicious about this. Sure it was not the illuminati testing their anti-matter weapon?
