Wow, I must have been on a different planet. I never heard of the Anna/Tommy rumor. I have to agree with PHONENIX unless either of them spills the beans it's just gossip. But I have to say if it's true... I like Anna very much, she's a bit young but definitely a catch.

Top seed Tommy Robredo, who is 12th in the Race and just 17 points behind eighth-placed Blake, became the first player into the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Italian Andreas Seppi. Robredo saved both break points he faced and won 15 of 21 points on his second serve.

Robredo's 'best fifth' result of the 2007 season to date came in Rotterdam, where he earned 12 points for reaching the quarterfinals. Should he win the title this week in Metz he would add 23 points to his Race total (35 winner's points less the 12 points from Rotterdam that he could no longer count as his 'best fifth' result'.) So a victory would take him past Blake in the Race standings

I saw someone said "Anna" and I assumed they were talking about Chakvetadze. They'd make a cuter couple than Tommy and Ana.

You are welcome dear pleasure is mine
Tommy's interview after the match

Quote:

He sacado muy bien.

On the victory against Seppi:

" It Was a good match. The first one against Mayer was very long, I believe that today i had more confidence I've served very well. I had to save two break points to 5-4 and I did it with two good services. Later he could not break me during the whole match. It was perfect.

On the last weeks and the tournament of Pekin:

" After the grass season I played very well on clay. I won in Sopot without playing at a very high level, and later in the United States I did not play well .I decided to play in China in order find to my rhythm and play better, i managed to play the final improving very much my game. Later I took two weeks of vacation since i had played nine or ten followed weeks and it was hard physically.I believe that now I continue with the rhythm of China but with more confidence .

On the vacation:

" I remained in Barcelona. The first weeek i stayed at home one I and later I went to Madrid for three days because a friend of mine got married. The wedding was great and it helped me to disconnect a bit, later it was ready to train. The second week I was training in Barcelona.
On his most important rivals to go to Shanghai:

" well it is easy, just look at the rankings. There are many players who are very close to the number 8 and 7th spot. Anyway we'll see what happens in Madrid and in Paris, since other tournaments as , Stockholm or Lyons are good, but I cannot win lots of points there.
I came here in order to try to win the tournement, i think i have pretty good chances."

On the pressure:

This is good to feel pressure, I would like feeling this pressure every year. Last season i finished as the number seven of the world and if this year I can finish as 11 or 12 it will not be that bad.
Last year was amazing to be able to go to the Masters, so I have less pressure than others that never been able to go . I hope to play at this level during the next five weeks

From Tommy's website:

Translation:

AUTOGRAPH SESSION IN METZ

Between matches Tommy always finds time to attend his fans and sign autographs. Yesterday in Metz after his practise he attended young people and children who approached the stand to take a photo with their idol.

P.S. The photos will be published on the Off Court thread!!!
