Oh, and the Mutual Madrileña Madrid Open is the ATP Masters tennis tournament in Madrid (Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open on ATP site). Sorry I added [whatever that is], I should've checked. Carlos must be going to be a guest of the sponsors (Lexus)? Maybe it's one way of involving him somehow since they know he is unable to play ..??
Lame, for a former world number one, he doesn't have his own website I would also like to see him give the ATP one last stride. I mean, he did have solid results in 2007 with a QF at both the French and US Open, which was only two years ago. Solid player on all surfaces except grass, and fun to watch with his mirrored Nadal like game I suppose. So yeah, I would like to know what is going on with him as well.
Yes, I too would like news of his condition and an update on whether or not he plans to return. Do any of his fans in Europe see anything in the news?
I have seen only this AP report: "The U.S. Tennis Association says former No. 1 Carlos Moya of Spain is pulling out of the U.S. Open because of a foot injury. The 1998 French Open champion has been sidelined most of this season; his ranking recently slipped out of the top 100." http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/32364395
Sounds like this is a different injury than the injury he had surgery to repair. any other details? There are times, like now, when it's so incredibly frustrating that Spanish wasn't taught early on in school where I grew up.

i am watching several time to tennis channel, an italian channel only with tennis. Tbey shows many time Penetta, old matches from time of Connor, Mc Enrou, etc, also from the spanish oldies, but never i see Moya. It is sooooooo frustrating, in the media there is so little attention for moya. Even his previous matches from the earlier years aren't showed on tele.
LOVE MOYA HE'S THE BEST
