Nico wants to play the US next in Davis Cup - wants to play Andy and Andre. I know both boys have a lot of respect for Andy and idolized Andre when they were younger, so it would be a thrill for the two of them.

But he's talking hardcourts here - I think the US is thinking about grass.

What a beautiful picture of our chico!

Can't translate it because its in lun.com but from what my bad spanish can tell, he says that he's back to being the fighter, and that while he doesn't know what he wants to do when he retires from tennis, he does dream of being Captain of the Chilean Davis Cup team someday.

An article from el mercurio, NicoFan can traslate it later it says that Nico will be playing an exhibition with Marcelo Rios in Chile on Jun 14th .... interesting huh?

Nico is home!

From latercera.cl:

Nicolas Massú (35º) this Monday arrived to the country, after reaching the third round of Roland Garros, where he fell in four sets before Swiss Roger Federer (1º).

To his arrival, the viñamarino was shown satisfied with he carried out in the second one Grand Slam of the season, where he beat Belgian Xavier Malisse andBelorussian Max Mirnyi.

Besides, the second national racquet qualified as "positive" his action in the first part of the season.

"I have completed my expectations. In some tournaments was me well, in other not so much, but last year I finished in the position 67 and now I am 35".

Massú won this year the tournament of Costa do Sauipe (Brazil) and was a finalist in Casablanca, falling in the Moroccan clay before Italian Daniele Bracciali, and Vina del Mar, where inclined front of Argentine José Acasuso.

The Olympic champion clarified that could have scaled still more in the world classification, but finally the drawings did not favor it in some tournaments.

"In the last important tournaments always they touched me rival that were among the ten first. Once I lost with the 6º, later with the 10º and now last with Federer", asserted.

The pupilo of Gabriel Markus confirmed in the opportunity that at the end of month will be measured in an exhibition game, in the Tortuga de Talcahuano, al former number one of the world and present leader of the circuit of veterans, Marcelo Rios.

Now, el "Vampire" will test his luck in the exhibition of Buckhinghamshire, important subject to the third Grand Slam of the season, Wimbledon, that will be played since June 26 in England.

The viñamarino only defends second round in the English grass, for which any greater advance would be translated in an ascent in the ranking.

Well I didn't know where to post this 'cause we don't have a thread for exhibition events ... and besides it's so good to finally know something about Nico and to finally know that we'll have an score board in cooperativa yeay!!!

Good luck Nico today!!

BTW it's in spanish so NicoFan has to translate it

(Cooperativa.cl)

Yes, he is playing in my city (Concepción) today (well, I study here, but I'm from Puerto Montt, a southern chilean city)

Ther bad thing is that I don't have money to go
And there's a very rainy day today in Concepción, and also think that the producers are not making a good job to promote the exhibition, personally I don't know of anyone that will go to the exhibition

Well, I finish my job at 6 p.m and the tickets will be selling till 7 p.m and for this I found very difficult that I could go "La tortuga de Talcahuano" stadium where the match will be played is far from where I study and live... and second, the tickets are selling in a department store, not in the stadium. It will be started too late and the locomotion is not the best (I remember when I'd go to the Feña-Nico exhibition 2 years ago after the olympics)

And for Zine56: the match will be played in indoor carpet (and a very bad carpet IMO sponsored by Chiledeportes )
