always the same stupid question huh? who should play Nico or Paul?

oh and btw, I don't know why Nicolas had to choose to play in the States rather than the last tournament of the LA swing, he's the only one adjusting his schedule for the DC and nobody else

safinafan - Nico, Fernando, and Paul will play at the Davis Cup - Nico and Paul can't do some of the pre-Davis Cup tournaments that Hans wanted them to play.

Kid - Nico isn't playing in the US - god forbid he would actually play a tournament in the US that wasn't a big event. He's not playing in Acapulco, but he isn't in the Delray Beach draw that week. I think he's just training that week for Davis Cup. He usually skips one LA swing tournament - it's just usually not Acapulco.

Not that I think that Nico should have played in the US rather than the LA swing. I'm glad he is playing in the LA swing. I don't really care about Davis Cup - I would rather see Nico playing where he can get points.

For the record, I know that Hans can be an idiot, but in this case, I think he's actually using his head. The matches are going to be played on hardcourts. Nico has done absolutely nothing on hardcourts for a couple of years. He doesn't even try anymore on the surface. Paul on the other hand loves hardcourts and does have results on the surface.

If Nico does well in the Oz Open, maybe he should be considered. But right now he lost the exhibition on hardcourts against FeLo and lost to Muller in Auckland. If he can't get his warrior back on and win a couple in Melbourne, he doesn't deserve to play in Davis Cup.

Actually in the article it doesn't say that Hans is considering Paul instead of Nico, is the press that is asking the same stupid question over and over again ... and yes Nico always skips an LA tournament but not Acapulco, since it's the one giving more points so he actually did it this time for DC and if he is not playing in USA then he'll be only training like you said which for me is not the best thing but anyway

Massú no levanta cabeza.

Ohhh Nico is right.

When he used to lose, he would just say - I lost. No excuses. Now it's because Almagro was ranked 18 in the world. He didn't lose becuase Almagro was 18 in the world - Almagro had never won at the Oz Open. He lost because he allowed himself to lose control at the end of the match.

From emol.com:

No doubt the draw sucked, but despite the fact that he obviously played to win it sounds like he was resigned to lose before the match ever began. (my translation is not very good so I may be misinterpreting what he said ) I prefer the "no excuses" .

Nico, your draws suck must of the time ... but no he wasn't thinking about losing since the begining, he was saying that he wanted to know how difficult could be for him to play a top player again and that it wasn't that bad for him so that's why you can't find the "no excuses" line
