Vulture can vulture the St Hertongenboschs of this world as many times as he likes, it will not change anything in the overall picture.
Yeap.

Rafter won only 11 titles but 4 of 'em were Grand Slam and Masters titles. Not to mention that he was a two-time Wimbledon and four-time Masters runner-up as well.

As for Vulture, among those 20 titles, only 1 one of 'em is a Masters title. Not to mention that he beat a qualifier in the final

To sum up, Vulture can vulture 40 plus titles in his career, but it will never change the fact he's nothing but a vulture who takes full advantage of relatively weak era and weird ranking system.

Don't forget that he needed a washed up doubles specialists to have one of the chokes of the century in the SF to even reach the final in the first place.

Apart from that, spot on, couldn't have put it better myself.

There are NO pushers at the pro level, by the way. Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, and Ferrer are counterpunchers, and there is a HUGE difference.
djokovic goes from attack to defense and vice versa

murray has incredible variety and does not use it enough

nadal used to be capable of pressing the issue but doesn't much, these days...

how are they in any way like ferrer?

there's plenty of pushers at pro level btw...

No, he tanked to maximize his chances to win the WTF, as did the rest of the contestants bar Ferrer. There were no GS winners past R3 of Bercy 2012 (and no GS finalists past QF) - have you noticed how, surprise, surprise, this never happens in Masters event that are not played the week immediately before the WTF?

No top player tanks anything. Janowicz was on fire that week and beat 5 top 20 players and beat Andy fair and square.

Sure. I'll be waiting to see Masters (or GS) events with no GS winners past R3 in non-WTF preceeding weeks. Since that occurence wasn't caused by top players tanking, I'm sure it could happen again real soon.

Ferrer is probably better than Ljubicic, Blake, Gasquet, Simon and Boredo, but he's definitely weaker than Rios, Nalbandian, Davydenko, Haas, Tsonga, Soderling, Berdych, Coria and Henman.

Haters are mad Dave, that is a good sign. It means you are doing something right

Continue on your path to greatness Fezz, RG is yours if you want it if Murray isn't at his best on clay.

I just took another look at Andrei Pavel's run to his first and only Masters title. He beat Haas in SF, then Rafter in the final while Vulture beat, just like you said, a washed up doubles specialist, then a qualifier
