Re: Which Open Era slam win streak was most impressive?
None of those listed. Borg's French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back 3 times in a row.

Re: Which Open Era slam win streak was most impressive?
Borg's 4 french open
The number of legendary clay courters back in the late 70s-80s was insane, without doubt the strongest clay era. Borg had to beat them all for his 4-in-a-row.

I think the delusional here is you. Nadal never dominated the tour like those 3. And Djokovic still has a long way to go.

Re: Which Open Era slam win streak was most impressive?
I think Borg's Wimbledon-RG back to back wins are the most impressive.
In terms of streaks within a single slam, Borg's 5 Wimbledons followed by Pete's 4.
Pete winning 7/8 years at Wimbledon is also one of the most impressive achievements in tennis.

Nadal 4 successive at RG were from 2005 to 2008.
Federer 5 successive at US Open were from 2004 to 2008.
i.e. in same era yet Nadal' FO achievement is 3rd best and Fed played in a mug era?

Re: Which Open Era slam win streak was most impressive?
Borg 5 times at Wimbledon would be my pick as it was just after winning RG in 3 (1978-1980) of the 5 years (1976 to 1980).

We all know this "weak era" crap is based simply on which players you like and which you don't like. As noone has ever been close to proving one era to be stronger than another, some feel free to assume away, and do so always to the advantage of their favourite player(s). As if their cheering alone is enough to make winning in that era more difficult. They must consider themselves really potent jinxers.
To the topic in hand, I prefer Federer's five in US Open, because it's the only streak that has not been copied, and he also was taken to five sets only twice and never looked in any real danger of losing (had 2-1 after three sets both times). Borg needed seven five-setters in his Wimbledon streak and needed to come back from 0-2 once and 1-2 three additional times.

This. It's incredible, especially considering the surface variety back then.

Re: Which Open Era slam win streak was most impressive?
Why is there players with only 4 straight titles in the choices?
Fed's 5 straight in both is most impressive, they also everlapped.
How he could handle both streaks is what people all over the world still talk about.
