Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Federer has been getting tougher draws than Djokovic after Wimbledon/Olympics. I suppose ITF/ATP think he already is overkilling it with the slam record and weeks as #1 record. Like, yeah, you got the slam and #1 record, enough already. No need to overdo it and obliterate any more records and make them look silly. Seventeen and 237 weeks are enough. Time for some new blood, FFS!!!

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Winner of the projected SF between Nole and Delpo - so probably Nole. Another tough R1 for JMDP, Baghdatis now

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Now that Berdych sees that Fed is in his half we can be assured he will do everything in his powers to reach the semis. After all that's what he lives for, knock out Fed only to lose in his next match ^^.

And Tsonga may be defeated before QF by Llodra or maybe Tursunov.
I also would bet on a Djoko-Berdych final
|
Tsonga never lost to Llorda before 6-0 H2H. He should beat Llorda but Tursunov could be a very tough match. I still see a QF between Tsonga vs Berdych.
Novak wins the whole thing and his countryman Tipsarevic will continue his new trend of losing in the first round. Davydenko beats him in straight sets.

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
I had thought qualifiers and wild cards were split evenly among the halves in a draw. And then the rest of the non-seeded players would be placed randomly among the remaining non-seeded slots.
For example, if 4 qualifiers and 4 wildcards, 2 qualifiers and 2 wildcards would be in each half.
But apparently, this is not the case. For Dubai, all 4 qualifiers landed in the upper half (Djokovic), while all 3 of the wildcards landed in the bottom half (Federer).
Does anyone know how the non-seeded portion of the drawing is actually done, or do tournaments decide themselves?
Are tournaments permitted to put non-seeded players where they want to get preferred match-ups?
In other words, is it in reality arranged placement instead of random placement?
Respectfully,
masterclass

That would imply that draws are rigged. I mean yeah I believe they could be fixed sometimes, but you say it like it's a well known fact.

3 of them were retirements in the first set or after the first set tie-break,
2 of them were tight,
and in the one in the Australian open this year, Llodra also had physical problems.
If Llodra in in good form and really fights, he can bother Tsonga.

in theory (I mean if it's not rigged), it's purely random for non-seeded players and there are no special rules for qualifiers and wild-cards.

Not to mention 1000 points defending from Madrid
It would be fun to watch Djoker-Fed final, surface may be fast as it was in Cincinnati.

There is no Murray to take him out though this year. Del Po will pose no challenge. Fed could obviously, but he'll have trouble versus Berdy/Tsonga on a fast court

I think it's an expression : "they put" can mean "randomly".

I wasn't really asserting that the draw here was fixed, just expressing displeasure at the draw. But then again Dubai is an absolute monarchy with modern day slavery, so I wouldn't surprise me if they were fixing draws as well.
