Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Djokovic was the big favorite anyway, but it's once again a shit-draw for Federer :
same half as Berdych, Tsonga and Tipsarevic, the worst case possible (it might have been worse if Tsonga had been in the same quarter), Davydenko and Tomic in the same quarter (it might have been worse if he had faced them in first two rounds), and Berdych has two easy first rounds.
It's become a habit anyway : organizers probably want Fed to play tight matches and they know Djokovic would race whatever the opponent.
Still it's a lot for the old man

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Unlucky Fed got the Nard dangerously close to him in the draw once again

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
I gotta agree that Fed's draw is actually hard here compared to Djoker's. Probably the hardest draw he's had this year.

His AO draw was much tougher.
But that's not the point : the point when you analyse draws is to look at the possibilities before the draw and then look where the result ranks among the possibilities.
And as for seeds, he got the worst case except that Tsonga might have been in his quarter.
And as for unseeded players in a draw which doesn't have many ones, as some people noticed, Fed got in his quarter 2 of the 4 dangerous floaters imo : Davydenko and Tomic. The 2 other ones I had noted were Llodra and Baghdatis (which Tsonga and Del Po got in first round, bad luck for them). And Berdych being a real danger for Fed, it would have been better for Fed if Berdych had drawn tougher opponents rather than Ram, Kamke and Kukushkin.

Berdych looks likely to play the Marseille final, and rarely makes finals two weeks in a row.

his first rounds are easy, he will have time to adapt, and as you know he's always esp. motivated when he knows that Fed waits for him
And Tsonga may be defeated before QF by Llodra or maybe Tursunov.
I also would bet on a Djoko-Berdych final

It looked very tough on paper, but only Tomic played as everyone expected, Denko and Raonic were below par

I checked, rarely was too mild. He's never made finals two weeks in a row. That is certainly no evidence he won't this time either, but I feel it decreases the likelihood of it.

Re: WWW : ATP Dubaï 2013
Roger's first two rounds are piss-easy and that's what makes this a marginally better draw for him than the one in Melbourne.
