He should get a WC at Indian Wells. He is a former champ! He should not have to qualify.

El III Open de Tenis de la Comunidad Valenciana-ATP Tour, que se disputará del 2 al 10 de abril de 2005, contará con una nómina de lujo en cuanto a tenistas participantes, entre los que destacan Nadal, Verdasco, Kuerten, Robredo, Costa, Ferrero o Corretja.
Los organizadores han confirmado la presencia de Rafa Nadal, uno de los héroes de la última Copa Davis que ganó España, vencedor del torneo Costa do Sauipe de Brasil, el pasado domingo, y actualmente situado en el número siete de la Carrera de Campeones de la ATP.
El organizador del torneo, Juan Carlos Ferrero, también estará presente. El valenciano no ha arrancado bien esta temporada y espera llegar en buenas condiciones al Open valenciano y recordar al tenista que fue campeón de Roland Garros en 2003 y que lució el número 1 del mundo durante 8 semanas en la misma temporada.
El vigente campeón del Open, Fernando Verdasco, también ha confirmado su participación, al que se le ha unido el brasileño Gustavo Kuerten, triple campeón de Roland Garros y mejor tenista brasileño de todos los tiempos.
En cuanto a la participación de otros españoles cabe destacar la presencia de Tommy Robredo, ganador de la Copa Davis 2004 con España y vencedor del torneo Open Seat Godó en 2004; Albert Costa, ganador de Roland Garros en 2002 y Alex Corretja, vencedor de la Copa Masters en 1998 (Hamburgo).

I have just read,that Alex is out of Indian Wells Qualies.I hope he is not injured.That would be a big setback for him.There is a little chance ,that he got the last (5.) wildcard.
There is no information on his web-site!

Thats not a good news,but lets wait...

Hi all!
Alex was named as player in the Challenger of Sunrise (Florida),but the Draw is out and
Alex is not playing!Hi is still in the Quali-Draw of MS Miami,but I think he must have a big injury or health problem,because he pulled out of all this Tournaments.I don´t understand
that he don´t update his homepage.
Alex please let us know what´s the matter!

I think it's not an injury but something private/family issue.
He has entered a challenger in Napoli during the second week of Miami. That probably makes more sense than travel to the US for the Miami qualies.
Hope he comes back strong!!!
