I hope these players are investing their money wisely, usually five years after quiting they are broke either doing a reality show or depressed.I think its good to have an education to fall back on,all that free time he had when injured could have been used taking financial management classes.
Mortgage your own house to invest in something that you know nothing about. I can't feel sorry for him being this stupid.
Doesn't surprise me to hear about the Poo. He's had plenty of sports cars, beautiful homes, high profile women - he has lived the life most will only ever dream about and he squandered it. Tough cheese.

He wasn't very smart with his money, really. It's understandable he wants to take care of his own things but he should have at least studied personal finances and management before taking such risky decisions. Hope he gets out of this situation eventually.

Hasn't he had financial problems for a while? I think it is a very good lesson for all sportsmen and I know in Australia that alot of football players are getting criticized for putting money before loyalty but the thing that alot of people forget is that they really get paid well for ten years if they are lucky. Poo is probably lucky though that Australian tennis is in a lean period and as a result he is still very recognisable so although he will never earn the millions that he once would it isn't like he doesn't have any opportunities to make a decent living.
