I would actually not mind seeing Benneteau getting a title, but can't see it at all, he has choked far better opportunities than this one, where he was actually the better player unlike here where even if he was the mentally toughest player ever he'd still be the underdog against a Del Potro that has been looking great this week and hasn't yet lost a set or dropped his serve this week.

I like Delpo, but can`t help cheering for Benneteau. Really, this guy has huge game and had great victories in past over many top players and yet to win even 250 tournament. I guess If Julien is going to take it he`ll do it in 2 relatively fast sets being on fire. The longer match goes the bigger chances JMDP gets, IMO.

Yup, Del Potro has the sixth best finals record ever as per this link. Not exactly someone you want to be facing when you're looking for your first title.

I wouldn't mind Benneteau getting the title here at all, he definitely deserves one, but I'm afraid it will have to wait. Del Potro is playing very good tennis this week, and even if he wasn't he's much tougher mentally in finals.

It's not often I hope JMDP to lose. But this time I want so badly Julien to win. Unfortunately that's not very likely, DelPo's been so good this week. All I can hope is that playing against such a big favourite makes Benny so concentrated that he forgets to choke. But even then he still needs to outplay Juan.

So I think Juan will win, unfortunately.

Well, in all his previous finals he played guys who are considerably weaker than Delpo, including Garcia Lopez, Monaco and Llodra among others. Odds are if he reaches another final in a 250 event it will be a far more winnable match than this one and he will need to pounce for once.

If he does get his first title here against the player with the best finals record on tour in a 500 event, kudos to him though

That`s not true actually. Delpo played very well today, but if JMDP from match against Nieminen shows up, Julien will have his chance. That day argentinian was vey beatable.
