Quimper CH R2: Marius Copil def. [2] Gilles Muller 5-7 6-4 6-4
Excellent win for Marius. Entertaining offensive tennis from both players, a good match to watch despite it being on the Challenger level.

Müller had already hardly lost yesterday against the 19-year old Frenchman Mathias Bourgue, I was surprised how many aces they had made in that match by the way, it seems that Bourgue has a good serve as well.

How was the quality of tennis in this one? I watched Copil a week or two ago when he lost to Gojowczyk and he was atrocious in that match.

Copil played really well. Didn't waste important points. Played a bit at the net and tried to quickly change the pace of each ball. His serve was somewhere at 80%, but his return game shined a bit.
Muller also played pretty good. He lost control in the second set when he lost focus on his own serve and got angry. Marius speculated there. During the final set, he looked like not able to find the right solution to stop Marius from incisively attacking on Muller's serve.
Like I said in the OP, a good quality match.

Well done Marius. I thought he had finally moved to the next level last year but he went back to his old ways in January. He really should be ranked in the top 100 at the very least.

That's because he played in the weekend before 2 Davis Cup ties where he picked a slight injury, and also his Monday flight from Cluj Napoca to Bucharest got delayed so he missed the connection to Bergamo and arrived in Italy Tuesday morning, only with 5 hours before the match.

Thanks for the summary
Well, truth be told you said it was an entertaining match and good to watch. That doesn't necessarily mean it was of high quality.

That explains it. Thanks, really didn't know that.
