STOP COMPARING POTRO TO MURRAY!

They are on completely different levels. It is like comparing Nadal to Troicki.

I wouldn't go that far, Murray's forehand, while a bit iffy, is surely better than Troicki's.

You're referring to USO 2009 vs USO 2012 right? Affirmative.

Murray was slicing every third backhand, made for a very ugly match actually.

As for this peak vs peak comparison, peak attack > peak defense. It's a non issue since they're hardly likely to face while both are their peak, how often does a player play his very best tennis? Not too often. On an average, you have to favor Murray to outgrind/defend JMDP into oblivion.
USO 08 was a tight match and then Delpo got hot towards the end of the third set and early fourth and was blasting ridiculous winners but he lost the momentum and it got back on serve- ultimately after 3hr 57 he didn't have the energy at *5-6 and I remember his shots being very short as he was broken for the match. It was a pulsating battle and the embrace at the end put an end to the stupidity of their first match.

Yes.

Del Potro and Murray both have one slam, both have an olympic medal, Murray has more GS finals but JMDP has a WTF final....Murray takes it, but it's close.

Comparing Del Potro or Murray with Djokovic would be ridiculous given he has 6 times the amount of slams they do, almost 60 weeks at N1, 2 WTF, etc.

Murray is far more accomplished than Del Potro. By the same token comparing Murray to the rest of the top 4 is just as ridiculous.

They both have an olympic medal, yes, but you fail to state the respective colours. In addition to his slam Murray has 5 finals, Potro has none. Murray also has like 20 more SF's. Masters is 8-0 Murray. Head to head between themselves and the other top players is massively in Murray's favour also. Different level.

Delpo is probably better compared with someone like Johansson at the moment than Murray, who is better compared with someone like Roddick.

I thought the discussion was about them at their best/peak. Why does it matter who achieved more? Nalbandian doesn't have a Slam yet he has a higher peak level of play than both, as do some other Slamless players.

If the discussion was who achieved more, then it'd be pointless, clearly it's Murray now that he has a Slam as his non-Slam career is far superior.

Lol. I'm assuming you're not including Murray in this 'both'?

No he is right- Nalbandian's best tennis beats Andy's best hands down but his career is inferior because he lacked the work ethic and didn't do the hard graft enough. I think had he possessed the same dedication the slower courts/homogenisation wouldn't have hurt him as much as other players such as Safin for example.
