Re: Week 9 : Sydney (Entry List)
Why must the list for my home city be so bad?

It's the timing. Everyone who is not in main draws is acclimatising to the US for the big March comps... Which is exactly where Millman should be too.

I think playing this tournament is a good move by Millman. With his shin splint he has to be sure he doesn't over play and being based in Australia for the first two months of the year isn't a bad thing. On top of that he can play a relatively weaker field in Australia and have more chance of advancing further in the tournament. He still has enough time to travel to the US and be involved in the March tournaments if he really wants to but I have a feeling he will want to go to Europe or Asia if possible.
John has proven he can play at an ATP level over the last month so I don't think playing in weaker tournaments to boost the ranking is a bad thing. Just my opinion.

Re: Week 9 : Sydney (Entry List)
Typical asia-pacific chally draws.. the whole distance from other tournaments thing just isn't very good so it is mostly local players of average to low ranking or Asian players.
