Andrew lost

Murray loses in French semi-final

Murray failed to live up to his number one seeding in Paris
Britain's Andrew Murray has failed in his bid to reach the French Open boys' singles final.
The 18-year-old Scot, winner of the boys' US Open title last year, lost 7-5 6-3 to Croatian Marin Cilic.

Murray, who spends much of his year training on clay courts similar to those used at Roland Garros, will now have to adapt his game to grass.

He has been given a wild-card to compete against some of the world's leading men at Queen's Club next week.

Good Luck Andrew next week in Queen's Club!

Some articles from the BBC:

1. Murray handed Wimbledon wildcard

Andrew Murray was one of nine Britons to get a wildcard for Wimbledon, just hours after recording his first ATP Tour win at Queen's Club.
The 18-year-old Scot, who beat Santiago Ventura on Monday, will be joined by Josh Goodall, Alan Mackin, Jonathan Marray and David Sherwood.

Elena Baltacha, Amanda Janes, Anne Keothavong and Katie O'Brien were the British women handed wildcards.

Other wildcards went to Cara Black, Jelena Dokic and Mark Philippoussis.

Three more women and two more men will be announced later.

I try to block out the pressure but it's always going to be there
---Andrew Murray

Speaking at Queen's Club before the announcement was made, baseliner Murray insisted he could be successful on grass.

"I don't play badly on grass, it's just not my favourite surface," Murray told BBC Sport. "I play well on all of them.

"If I'm not playing against the best grass-court players I can do well when I'm playing the baseliners."

He added: "I think it's fair that there's a lot of expectation because after Tim (Henman) and Greg (Rusedski) there's not so many players coming through.

"I try to block out the pressure but it's always going to be there and hopefully one day I can get to do what Tim and Greg have done."

2. Rusedski & Murray win at Queen's

Rusedski was seldom put under pressure on Centre Court
Greg Rusedski got back to winning ways while Andrew Murray claimed his first ATP Tour win on a good opening day for the home players at Queen's.
Rusedski had a 6-3 6-4 win over Brit wildcard Josh Goodall in the Stella Artois Championships first round.

Meanwhile, on Court One, 18-year-old Murray thrashed Spain's Santiago Ventura 6-1 6-2 to reach round two.

However, Alan Mackin could not build on some encouraging moments and went down 7-5 4-6 6-3 to Igor Andreev.

Murray, who lost in the semi-finals of the boy's singles at the French Open last week, faces American Taylor Dent or Germany's Tomas Behrend next.

If I keep hitting my serve like this then I've got a chance with anybody

The Scot has had 10 wins in either futures or challenger events this year and took advantage of a wildcard at Queen's for his first win at the senior level.

"This was a very important match for me - one of the biggest of my career," Murray told BBC Sport.

"Playing in an ATP tournament at my age is obviously going to be a big deal. Once I got on top I didn't let the guy off the hook and finished the match off pretty well."

Murray confirmed he will play in the boy's singles at Wimbledon.

Rusedski, searching for his best form after a disappointing season, had too much grass-court experience for Goodall and took the match in just 53 minutes.

The world number 38 hit 21 aces in a dominant 6-3 6-4 win.

The British number two paid tribute to his 19-year-old opponent after the match.

"I thought he played very well - if he continues to play like that he's got a good future," Rusedski told BBC Sport.

"I've won a match here which is always a positive. I've got to think to myself that if I keep hitting my serve like this then I've got a chance with anybody.

"I've got to keep on being aggressive, make a few more returns and life will be good."

French Open runner-up Mariano Puerta pulled out of the tournament on Monday with a groin strain.

From the official site:
Taylor Dent v Andrew Murray: First Meeting
Murray's first round win over the Spaniard Santiago Ventura was an important milestone in his career because it served the dual purpose of a first victory on grass and a first ATP tour win. Murray is Britain's most promising player, having won the US Open junior title last year and was one of the stars in the Davis Cup win over Israel in April. He professes not to like grass but he is entitled to change his mind on that subject depending what happens to him during the Stella Artois and Wimbledon where he has been granted a wild card. Dent, son of Phil Dent who was once a highly regarded competitor on the courts here, and in many other places, is a genuine fast court player and the more pace he can find on grass the better. He equalled his best Wimbledon last year, losing in the third round to Andy Roddick, and is seeded ninth in the Stella Artois.

Verdict: Dent to make the last sixteen
