yrah, it really said much about the athmosphere there and how the doctors treat their patients.

Doesn't inspire any confidence whatsoever.

I don't know what my mother plans, but every time she is going to the specialists, she wants to have a witness with her in the room. And when we left today I thought: "if we'd sue him we could use the helper as witness."

pretty sad, doctor's are supposed to help instead of working against you...

Re: Rising Francesco vol. 18 - open for posters who took a break
as if my mother didn't have problems enough with her health for nearly 2 years now, then you don't need "doctors" who care a shit about it. I only hope that the docs in the clinics where we're going in 10 days will finally care about this hematome there in the knee. I am quite sure that it is the thing that causes the cramps.
But it should be the other way around... we are as patients not supposed to tell the docs: "please check me for this and that." but it should be the doc that says: "ok, we gonna check you for that and that."

Re: Rising Francesco vol. 18 - open for posters who took a break
Nadal and his tape around the patella tendon are siamese twins... Even after nearly 9 months of break he still needs it, shows only how "much" his knee is "healed".

Precisely. It's always annoying when you go to see the doctor, and the first thing out of their mouth is "Now what do you think is the problem?" Well, you dolt. If I'd've undergone all the years of training you have to get to this point, then I wouldn't be here asking you now would I?

Re: Rising Francesco vol. 18 - open for posters who took a break
what doesn't get into my head is the thing with that hematome in the knee. If the docs had treated her properly after the first mri, they wouldn't have only taken out the huge hematome in the calf but also the one in the knee. They could even locate it "near the pcl". Then all this crap would have been dealt with in the summer of 2011.

Maybe to some degree. But not nearly as well as they'd like people to think.

And having located it, it does beggar belief why they didn't remove it. And your mum wouldn't have had to put up with nearly another 18 months of pain.

Re: Rising Francesco vol. 18 - open for posters who took a break
I forgot to mention it yesterday but my mother also has had a few not so pleasant encounters with doctors. The most recent one just happened a few months ago. She fell on her way to work and hurt her ankle. They didn't do anything for a long time until she started having constant problems (the swelling got worse instead of better and was still there even after almost 2 months, actually she still has it). Then she went to the doctor who treated her shortly after the accident and he told her that she needed a surgery as the hematoma had bled into the bone tissue or something due to a small rupture they hadn't noticed earlier. She was scared because the surgery would cause her to lose her job (she needs to walk a lot up and down the stairs and with crutches it is impossible). So she went to another doctor which said that a surgery would be the most rubbish thing to do. He prescribed her a special bandage now which has decreased the swelling a lot although it is still there. Fortunately she doesn't need to take painkillers anymore and is doing way better. The surgery would have probabbly made it all even worse and she would be still battling with crutches and pain. Not to think about how she would feel if she had lost her job over that.
Either way, just wanted to let off some steam. My dearest started into a new season yesterday and sucks even more than before because of technical problems. How hard it is to be supportive in moments like these. I will keep on smiling though.
