Ehh, Monty will fight and is fairly clutch (used to be more so) but he has a one-hander that falls a bit short at the best of times.

Tough draw for Nadal. Hope he can pull through somehow.

Is Montañés still playing? After beating Federer somewhere in the past he went missing from this planet.

Beat him at Estoril 2010 if I recall correctly.

Krajicek won his first tournament played after coming back from a 6 months sabbatical in Barcelona at age 22 in 1993-1994, but he was younger than Nadal is now. I believe Nadal won his second tournament played after his 4 months sabbatical in 2005-2006, but he was 19. Hard to tell how Nadal will perform after a 7 months sabbatical at age 26.

"Is berry difficult draw, no? For sure Itrymybest to win against BYE in R1."

Nadal is clearly eyeing up the newly created ATP Vulture of the Year award. He needs to win here as he's already fallen well behind in the King Vulture rankings to Ferru.

Even having been away for 7 months, if Nadal doesn't win this event serious questions need to be asked about his future in the game. Anyone saying otherwise need their head examining. Just take a look at Nadal's record over the last 8 years, and then look at the field in front of him here.

Chardy may get close to taking a set off him, but otherwise Nadal SHOULD sail through this draw.
