DC: Raonic (CAN) d. Ramos (ESP) 6-7(5) 6-4 6-4 6-4
Ramos put up a good fight but not enough vs the bombs from Raonic.

Re: DC: Raonic (CAN) d. Ramos (ESP) 6-7(5) 6-4 6-4 6-4
Albert Ramos did a good effort but he wasn't able to deal with Raonic's serve, so he was always in pressure when he was serving. In addition, he was more defensive than Raonic in a surface that doesn't allow players to win points from defence, but in fact Ramos was defensive as a consecuence of Raonic's excellent serve so it is more of the same.

4 sets to beat Ramos in Vancouver.
This must surely be a bad joke.

Re: DC: Raonic (CAN) d. Ramos (ESP) 6-7(5) 6-4 6-4 6-4
Milos turned into Federer out there with his not converting bp's. Was pathetic.
Ramos never got to deuce on a Milos service game. Milos was in control the entire way, just couldn't get that break in set 1, and a couple bad FH erros into the net early in the TB cost him.
Nothing to see here, the big match is next, this is the one Canada needs.

Albert was struggling throughout the match, and throwing in a string of bad service points every now and then. This is a poor result for him, I expected a bit better, truth be told.

Surprised the Calgary ice rink wasn't selected.

Epic fail from Clownonic, but at least he got the job done.

Milos didn't play very well at all beyond his serve. He just can't seem to help playing down to his competition, which is why I was disappointed when I heard Spain wasn't sending a top 20 player. Still, it's a victory. I just hope he'll start playing better soon. Has a lot of points to defend over the next month.

Not pretty but at least it's a win. This was supposed to be the 'weaker' Spanish opponent and he lost a set, so maybe we should be worried about Sunday's match vs Granollers (or perhaps GGL?). I really hope he gets those forehand errors under control soon.
