Default "Race to Paris"

Since it's quite useful to look at the year-to-date rankings in order to see who might qualify for the WTF, I thought I'd do something similar for the top-16 rankings leading up to the French Open. I included all GS and Masters 1000 plus the World Tour Finals and the 6 best from 500, 250, Olympics, Davis Cup, and team tennis. Ranking points are from, and including, the seeding cutoff point from last year's French Open up until now:

1. Djokovic - 10000
2. Murray - 7210
3. Federer - 6875
4. Ferrer - 5560
5. Berdych - 3045
6. Del Potro - 3010
7. Tsonga - 2800
8. Tipsarevic - 2530
9. Gasquet - 2145
10. Nadal - 2090
11. Cilic - 2040
12. Almagro - 1985
13. Nishikori - 1500
13. Hass - 1500
15. Querrey - 1475
16. Monaco - 1470
17. Raonic - 1435
18. Kohlschreiber - 1425
19. Isner - 1375
20. Simon - 1310
21. Dolgopolov - 1300
22. Seppi - 1265
23. Wawrinka - 1235
24. Janowicz - 1210

Thanks for this. There's a genuine chance of a Djokovic, Federer, Nadal half at Roland Garros.

Just imagine it - Novak, Rafa, Fed and Delpo in 1 half, Murray, Ferrer, Tsonga and Berdych in other. If Ferrer would somehow get to the final and then got destroyed by Rafa/Novak.. the vulture shit would be in full swing

Hopefully Ferrer can draw a healthy Monfils. Monfils surely would make his first Grand Slam final then too.

Monfils won't be making any finals, let alone a GS final.

Sorry Djokonauts, I am a fan of Federer now. I've learned over the years to appreciate his contribution to the game. No one will ever surpass this man's influence.
Federer ~ The consummate professional. Never retired once in a match. Does not go over the time limit on every point.

strange to have any faith in Monfils who today struggles against even mediocre players. his brain turned into mush a long time ago, I think Gael's chances are gone, he doesn't have the confidence or wit he may have once had. plays too dumb, runs for balls he shouldn't. he needs to play the game more intelligently, obviously if he played with more strategy he could do big things but I wouldn't bet anything on Monfils against Ferrer in a semifinal, the pressure would crush him

that would have to be one of the toughest / best half draws of a GS tournament ever in the open era if it happens like another guy mentioned, what if Del Potro also was in that half, that added with with a few more lower ranked heavy hitters would be nuts

I didn't count the whole top-16, but for the current top-8 I have a few differences (the calculation is stopped after Roma, which is relevant for the RG seeds : Berdych can count his points from World Team cup for instance) :

Federer 6875 (15 points from DC play-off)
Ferrer 5560
Berdych 3045
Del Potro 3010
Tipsarevic 2530

Maybe I calculated wrong.

For Ferrer, for instance, I got:
3930 from GS, masters 1000, and World Tour finals
1430 from Valencia, s-Hertogenbosch, Bastad, Aukland, Kuala Lumpur, Doha

What did I miss out?

Davis cup is the difference (290=140 from the semi and 150 from the final -90 from Doha), also probably for Berdych and Del Po.

Also there's the fact that I don't discard points from the week before Roland-Garros, as the seeds for RG are considered on the rankings previous week : that makes a big difference for Tipsarevic and Almagro, a small one for Berdych.

Ah, OK. Does that go in as a replacement for one of the top 6 500,250 results?

Also, when do Davis Cup points drop off? After the calendar year or do each round's points drop off the year after that round was played?
