Melzer might quit singles soon I think
Nice to see Korolev again though

Same way a lot of players are: he had a career-best season where he played at very near his best level for most of the year, then had a single big event boost that took him from top20 to top10.

It's not like he's some anonymous grinder after all. That slam semi, a 500 title and three 250s. He's beaten Federer at a masters, Nadal at a masters, Djoko at a slam, came very close to taking Murray out before he made the final of the US Open 2008, beaten Ferrer at a masters and a slam, Del Potro at a masters, and has a ton of wins against top20 over his career.

All that's changed recently is a ton of injuries the last two years.

I excpect someone to comment on one of Fed's last matches 'God knows how he won 17 slams'

oh, are trying to compare Fed to Melzer?

Jurgen was never top top material, thats what I meant, same goes for Monaco, Gasquet or Almagro.

yes, he's "only" a top-30 player, same age as Federer, and who's had his best years at an old age.

Clearly the kind of player who doesn't have his place on Tour

Like Lopez, Fish, Nieminen, Davydenko, Stepanek, Youzhny, Benneteau ... let them all retire !

And Fed in the meantime : he's the shadow of what he once was and doesn't even have energy to play Davis cup

now low for Melzer. After he loses points from Memphis he will be around zillionth position. tbh his game at the late belongs exactly there

Melzer had a lot of physical problems last year, apart from Memphis he can do better in the rest of the year than last year.

He will still be near the top-50 after his Memphis points are dropped.

Korolev when he's on can play great, seems that people don't know him.

What happened to Korolev?! He used to play in slams and stuff. Why is he so low in the rankings?
