Default Both Nadal and Djokovic have earned more prize money this year then Federer ever

They have earned more in same year(even though they were competition to each other) then Federer was playing solo in weak era ages:

1. Rafael Nadal $ 14,570,935 - 2013
2. Novak Djokovic $ 12,447,947 - 2013

Best Federer years:

This is even silly comparing to the best three Djokovic years

Great explanation how really cheap was weak era when the no.2 of strong era can achieve more(despite world economic slump) then no.1 of the weak era in world economic most prosperous years ever.

Better quality = more moneY

For people who love math and statistics - if this all comes down to Slams
Money talking:

2013 - Djokovic won 1 Slam and earned $ 12,447,947 as world #2
2006 - Federer won 3 Slams and earned $ 8,343,885 as world #1

1 Djoko slam from 2013 = $ 12,447,947/$ 8,343,885 * (3 Roger Slam from 2006)
1 Djoko Slam from 2013 = 1.49 * (3 Roger Slam from 2006)
1 Djoko Slam from 2013 = 4.47 * Roger Slam from 2006

this is how CHEAP was WEAK era

Inflation? US dollar is worth shit nowadays ... with the USA, shitty economy, all of that gazillion of trillions dollars of debt, the US dollar will be worth something like Mexican peso soon. If you want to be prosperous convert your useless $US dollars to some $CAD and you'll be prosperous when the States go completely bankrupt . And make sure your kids start learning Chinese because they are the only super power left in the world. They also own the States. Too bad many Americans don't get it.

Wait, doesn't it point to a stronger era if less money goes to one or two players? Like more people are competing at the higher levels? So wouldn't this indicate that Fed's era was stronger?

Also, more money in the sport. If Federer was dominating now, and Rafole were in 2003-7, Fed would earn more money, given the rise in prize money

The 'economic slump' is a red herring. Your comparison is predicated on prize money amounts. Therefore, only the nominal prize money numbers matter. You're not using a valid like for like comparison because tournaments this year paid out larger amounts than what they did 7 years ago. The closest thing to a common basis for comparison you could use is match wins in a given set of tournaments.

Your misuse of numerical interpretation is so appalling that I sincerely hope you don't include yourself in that group.

Djokovic needs it more, though. Gluten-free food is much more expensive.

Tournaments pay more money nowadays. Try calculating Federer's earnings if he had his 2006 results in 2013.

Isn't Nadal only earning $14,070,935 because he didn't play all masters events. Thus his bonus pool would only be 2 million and not 2.5? This bonus pools are insane.

Nadal earned 1.2 million more than Federer and the Bonus pool is around 1 million higher.

You would have to be completely retarded to buy into OPs no doubt rather creative attempt at trolling. Even simply calulating the dollar amount of the tournaments Fed won in 2006 (vs those won by Nole or Nadal) in 2013 terms will result in a much higher amount than either Nadal or Djokovic. It's a simply matter of inflation and rise in tournament prize money. Just looking at Fed's win % should tell you that much.

He would have had 15.259 million, he would have a bonus pool as he missed 2 masters events. That amount also does not have the US Open Series bonus as he didn't win it.

When Canadians start doing this, I can't tell if it's because they want attention, or if it's just time for their nap.

FAIL THREAD/ trolling attempt to degrade Federer
1
Would you compare real numbers after removing the inflationary effect from the nominal numbers please?
2
What about higher prize money paid by tourneys these days?
3
What about Nadal's prize money in 2008 compared to this year?
4
And finally since we're talking about players' income why not also consider sponsorship money, which you have conveniently ignored?

it is crazy how much prize money has changed from a few years ago

obviously a much much much higher rate than inflation, players or ATP must have been complaining about prize money I guess? I know I heard about Grand Slams sort of being pressured to raise their amounts but overall it is an incredible difference from 7 years ago

Serena made 54,1 mil in her career and over 12mil this year. Martina Navratilova with better achievements made 21,6 mil in her career.
Borg 3,6 mil
Agassi 31,1 mil
Sampras 43,2 mil

See the pattern?
