So I was thinking about the way wildcards are given out, and personally I think its terrible and unfair at times. So then I thought of ways the Wildcard Playoff could improve, here's my thoughts...

Have a 64 draw so most Australian's that have a world ranking will get in with 44 direct acceptances, 16 wildcards and finally 4 qualifiers. Then once the last 8 make the quarter final's have a play off between the 4 players knocked out in that round, then the 4 to make the semi final's all automatically get a wildcard.

Or still have that whole draw set up and only give the 4 semi finalists wildcards and the winner of the national under 18 championship a wildcard into the main draw of the Aus Open not the qualifying, so then that would still be a mix of atleast one junior with four pro tour players.

Some of you may think a 64 draw would be to big with playing all best out of 5 set matches, but personally I think it would be a great preperation for the Open each year, and also play it over two weeks like a grand slam not just one so the players aren't to tired.

The December showdown already goes for like 3 weeks or a month, so pretty sure the players would already be there early enough for the event and paying for all that themselves? Or actually have the event with prize money, so I'm guessing you voted to keep it the same? No clue how
