AO Final: Djokovic sets Open Era record, def. Murray 6-7(2), 7-6(3), 6-3, 6-2
First man in the Open Era to win 3-consecutive Australian Open titles
A forgettable 1st two sets by both. Novak was leaking errors and Murray was doing absolutely nothing with the ball. In all honesty, he didn't HAVE to do anything. Novak was horrible and Murray just kept the ball in play. Both had chances in each set that they lost, but managed to keep their opponent at bay.
Novak really loosened up in the 3rd set and his shots had much more depth and conviction. That caused Murray to become rattled and started to make more errors than usual.
4th set was just one-way traffic.
6th overall Major for Novak: Australian Open (2008, 2011-2013), Wimbledon (2011) & U.S. Open (2011)

AO 2013 Final: Djokovic champions over Murray 6-7(2), 7-6(3), 6-3, 6-2 [3 IN A ROW!]
Novak Djokovic - World No. 1, King of Melbourne, Champion of Champions, and Undisputed Overlord of Tennis - has done it again!
Despite Andy Murray's boring, ultra-defensive, pushing tactics, The Great No1e overcame the odds to become the FIRST AND ONLY man in the Open Era to win the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup three times in a row.
All hail, The Great No1e!
All hail, the GREATEST Australian Open Champion in HISTORY!

Spartanovic does it again
Pretty miserable final though, one of the most disappointing of recent years imo. Not sure whether it's just the 2 guys games cancelling each other out or whether they've just had bad days in the last 2 GS finals but the matches have been largely devoid of the inspiring tennis I would have hoped for.
Novak correcting to the USO error anyway

No wind, no slam for Mugray. Greatest fluke in the history of tennis the USO 2012.

One- slam-wonder Murray working hard to unravel all of Lendl’s hard work. Hypochondriac and box abuse tendencies never far from the surface. Fear does that. No hurricanes to help Mandy tonight.
Love how the Falcon bobs up and down on return of serve when he senses his prey is ready to be taken. Stones continue to be polished before being immortalized in sculpture.
Please Nadal come back and provide some worthy competition. Now on to RG and the calendar slam.
