Default Can Donald Young break into the top 20 in 2013?

Wind back 7 years and we have one of the most exciting and talented up and coming players in the game.

Aged 20 he was threatening the world's top 20 whilst exciting fans and players alike with his genius and charisma on court. He defeated Andy Murray in fine style (Indian Wells 2011) demonstrating this aforementioned potential. Dynamic, Powerful and condifent summed up his game, until he faded away in 2011 and lost 17 matches in a row which is undeniably embarrassing for a player of his talent.

What went wrong? Personal problems lead to his confidence and genius taking a hit? Maybe he fell out of love with the game? Maybe he wasn't training properly?

Despite these ups and downs I have a feeling a Grand Slam final may be coming his in 2014 if he can sort out his mentality.

I salute you, my friend, for reminding us about this great man, because he is indeed a great man. The Don has been quietly plotting a plan to give ATP an offer they cannot refuse. Keep your eyes open, cause he will storm the US Open this year. US Open Final qualifying round is his to lose.

Young is a mug. He does not have the physical tools to ever challenge at the highest levels of the pro tour. He is Kohlschreiber light. Kohli is a very talented player but limited by his physical abilities and will probably never rank higher than number 8 in his career. But he is indeed a solid player. But Young is even below Kohli, and there appears no prospects for him to elevate his game further.

If I didn't know better (in fact I don't), I'd say you were probably jealous of his potential.

Donnie is more talented than Gasquet.

OP, I was going to say you forgot a 0 in your subject line, but the don is miraculously 190 even with a 100 match losing streak.

The Don will rise....only if a lot fall first.

Is that the top 20 of clowns on the planet? He's already cemented his place there. The hat is his trump card for #1.

Stop denying it will happen. It's the most obvious thing in Tennis.

Don will break No1e's AO dominance, own Rafa in straight sets on Clay, snatch Wimbledon from the grasp of Murray after being 2 sets and 5-0, and then beat Roger at the US Open.

Young will become #2 in 2014. Number #1 will be The Great One aka Tomic, they will contest many epic slam finals. I predict Tomic mainly dominating Wimbledon and USO due to unbreakable serve and devastating slice, while Young will take care of clay season and AO. 12-14 slams for Young, 18-20 slams for Tomic IMO.

Easily IMO. Except I think he'll win 1-2 slams more than Tomug.
