Rate the 2013 Australian Open
How would you rate this year's Australian Open?
For me, it left a bit sour aftertaste. The most memorable matches for me were Nieminen-Haas, Simon-Monfils, Djokovic-Wawrinka, Ferrer-Almagro, and Federer-Tsonga. And two of those are negative memories. Simon-Monfils was a terrible pushfest. And Djokovic-Wawrinka match was bittersweet. It was great to see such great shotmaking from Stan, but it depicted modern tennis so well. No matter how well you play, it's the extremely fit grinders that succeed these days. And Almagro's loss was so terrible after serving three times for the match.
My favourite matches were Nieminen-Haas and Fed-Tsonga. It was nice to see Jarkko fighting a win for himself, and I enjoyed Fed-Tsonga match; I hope Tsonga can keep his form, this can be his best season. And it was nice to see also Berdych playing well, maybe he could've made SF in Ferrer's quarter. But still, for the most of the time, I didn't enjoy this AO. Murray-Chardy and Djokovic-Ferrer were jokes of QFs and SFs. And everything got crowned in women's semis when Azarenka took that strange MTO. Too bad Li couldn't save tennis and beat her in final. And men's final matchup was quite uninspiring, at least for me.
I give this AO a 3.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open
Worst AO for a couple of years (lack of Rafa, flat finals), but still a good tournament all around with lots of exciting matches, some big upsets, and several stand out performances from the big players involved. I give it a 7/10, but I always love the AO (even if I couldn't watch too much this year)

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open
I'm happy because my faves did well but the only two good matches I can think of are Wawrinka vs Djokovic and Tsonga vs Federer.
I'll give it a 4.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open
Pretty forgetable, especially the Final Four. Really lacked Rafa as the 4th Semifinalist.

Happy with the winner and I'll remember Wawrinka/Nole for a long time but on the whole it was pretty meh.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open
Only Fed-Tsonga, Nole-Stan and Sloan Stephen's run stood out. Overall I haven't found it very exciting but I didn't watch many matches to be fair. I give it a 6/10. 7/10 had Li Na won the trophy (nothing against Vika, just that Li was the better player of the tournament).

Hmm, maybe. At least USO had drama.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open
Worse than last year's. There was drama but no one played great and Djokovic-Murray is a painful match up

But it's okay, because the top 10 playing more is good for the game!
