Apparently not. I'm not fighting for the sake of fighting, I'm really curious what it is that I have missed. I don't think I'm ignoring anything on purpose and I don't see what bubble you're talking about. I thought we agreed that you need to know those languages if you're interacting with customers but there are (rare) cases, like with Java programmers, where you can only interact with coworkers and don't need to know the languages. Isn't that so? What more is there to talk about?

JM, what a beautiful setting in those videos!
Is everyone watching the figure skating championships? They're taking place in my province, in a city I've been to many, many, times.

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: It's comeback time baby!!! :rocker2:
Rafa
----
The Pope:
Positive:
- I like his chosen name. Pope Franciscus I (or Francis in English, I take it), named after Francis of Assisi.
- His first appearance and his first words went well. First good impressions on his people skills. The previous pope simply did not have a good connection with people, I think.
Negative:
- Reading about his stance on various issues, he's very conservative. Then again, that was a given due to the fact that they made sure that all those who are eligible to become pope are quite conservative.
- He's not without scandals (he made some very dodgy decisions during the time of the military junta in Argentina), which I find odd because you'd think that they would pick a pope that is beyond reproach.
In other words: same old, same old.

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: It's comeback time baby!!! :rocker2:
sERIOUSLY, WHAT DOES A NON CONSERVATIVE Pope even mean?
If you, people that have no interest in the Church unless is to bash, expect a Pope to embrace abortion, contraception and gay marriage, you are really deluding yourself.
Where the Church could really go forward is : uncovering the abuse and stop protecting the abusers, thinking about marriage of priests and ordening women( even if I'm not a fan but it came to the point where the Church survival depends on it) and doing a lot more of God work: helping the poor, charity, education, etc.... and less dubious business

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: It's comeback time baby!!! :rocker2:
It's not bashing. I wouldn't have made the effort of writing down positive sides if I was merely bashing.
When Ratzinger became pope, I remember that here, the reaction was very negative. The reaction to this pope is quite different. He's made a good first impression. The fact that he chose the name Francis, after Francis of Assisi, is also hopeful.
I just think that the catholic church is in a deep, deep crisis and the current club running it refuses to acknowledge the problems properly. The current church leaders are too far removed from what's going on in society. That's not to say that they need to drop what they believe in but a better understanding of society and a better way of communicating with society would be helpful.
Pope John XXIII was not ultra-conservative for example.
He made extensive efforts to drag the church into modern times.
I remember my mother complaining to no end about the next Pope Paul VI, because he undid some changes of the John XXIII and he was a lot more conservative.
Edit: I know the catholic church well enough (my parents were catholic) to not expect them to change their attitude towards homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia,...
.

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: It's comeback time baby!!! :rocker2:
I'm not qualified to talk about church matters so I won't say anything except that I was surprised they chose one so quickly. Maybe it's because I recently read somewhere that it took them 3 years once in the Middle Ages.
So, I'm dead today and facepalming out of tiredness
