Not everyone can be as smart as, say, Fireballer Now that guy was a great poster, shame he doesn't post anymore these days, don't you agree ?
With that said, Fishnet is not Big John, I'm 100% sure of it. Don't worry though, shouldn't take long until Big John really makes a double account.

Agree
He is not BigJohn. Speaking of permabanned posters, GlennMirnyi 's account is unbanned again. Interesting

Yes but I still feel like Becker and Edberg are bigger legends for some reason.

you know why it feels that way? It's called nostalgia . i.e. Borg is still the greatest to me and always will be, although Fed is the GOAT. emotions and memories vs. logic, If you know what I mean.

oh, yes way ... check out their overall accomplishments, consistency, number of titles etc. Ask Boris and he'll tell you the same thing . the bottom line is Djokovic is in his prime and capable of winning many more slams.

they both have 6 slams but Novak top heavy with Australian Open titles and Becker with Wimbledon titles, how does 3 Wimbledon titles not beat out 4 Australian Opens?
sure Novak beats Becker out by A LOT on weeks at #1 but Boris also has one more year end championships than he does.
there are certainly arguments to be made that Becker is more accomplished
obviously Djokovic will pass him in the future but I just don't see how anyone could argue there is much of a difference, Becker also played in a much harder era, fact, not to say the top 5 in his time was necessarily as strong, but there were WAY more threats throughout the top 100.
the 'era argument' just goes in circles so maybe I should not have brought it up, but at the very least their resumes are pretty fucking close

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
The joker is a much better player than either of those greats and if he isn't ahead of them he soon will be. As a long time fan who isn't particularly fond of Novak, that's my opinion. Djokovic's movement and consistent stroke production are both superior. If Djokovic had been able to solve his health issues earlier the relative Federer, Nadal and Djokovic positions would be so much closer.

Becker was a wayyyy more powerful hitter, better serve, better at net, etc/etc. you can say all you want about thinking Djokovic is a better package but he would have been screwed had he played late 80s or in the 90s, as would Becker in today's game, so I think unless Novak gets really noticable better achievements than it would be unfair to say he has surpassed Becker or Edberg. just too close to call right now

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
Djokovic is almost 26 now and by this age he has 6 grand slams. Boris had 5 at this age, but he was facing the rise of Sampras and Agassi.
I dont see Djokovic facing someone in the future who will win 14 Grand Slams like Sampras or 9 like Agassi.
Becker had to face Sampras and Agassi in the future, so he only won one more grand slam.
Edberg at the age of 25 also had 5 grand Slams.
Both Edberg and Becker were born in 1966/1967 so in 1991 they alread had won their grand slams facing one each other + Lendl and Wilander, but unfortunately had to face youngster Sampras and Agassi.
Djokovic can see only himself in the future plus facing Murray and decadent Nadal.
Of course Djokovic is a better overall player with better movement and strokes than Becker and Edberg but his volleys are worse than theirs.
This means Djokovic doesnt have a doubles career, whilst Becker and Edberg has a better doubles career than Djokovic (Edberg won two grand slams, while Becker was number 6 in Doubles).
So for me, even if Djokovic wins 10 grand slams in total he might have surpassed those players in numbers, but in terms of plaing style and what he brings to tennis he will be more like a singles specialist with a bigger time of playing on high level than surpassing those players in terms of legend.
But of course Djokovic is a terrific tennis player and comparing them is a bit unfair.
