Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
Djokovic now has 6 slams. 4 AOs, 1 Wimbledon and 1 US Open.
Becker has 6 slams. 2 AOs, 3 Wimbledon and 1 US Open.
Edberg has 6 slams. 2 AOs, 2 Wimbledon and 2 US Open.
Djokovic has 2 YEC, Becker 3 YEC and Edberg 1 YEC.
Djokovic has 11 TMS, Becker 11 too and Edberg 5 (albeit I'm counting GP series that became Masters in 1990)
Djokovic has 65 weeks at #1, Becker 12 weeks and Edberg 72 weeks.
Has Nole surpassed either, both or neither?

It's not just about statistics. He surpassed them a while ago IMO.

This.
And even if it was, he still has plenty of time to do far better than they did.

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
yes imo, and I've thought for long that he was in Lendl-McEnroe-Connors' category.
Of course one can argue about the situation "at the moment" but it's useless imo, because everybody knows that he will win other slams

I don't think he has necessarily surpassed either. A few more slams outwith the AO and he will be good to go. With his trajectory, it seems cut and dry.

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
he needs to diversify his slams a bit more, maybe win at least an extra wimbledon/USO/RG before he has surpassed them for sure

I think he needs to win one more Wimbledon or one French Open to surpass them.

“Does Djokovic resemble myself?” Agassi said. “No, he is even better. He defends really well, while I struggled more in that element of the game. Novak looks totally relaxed when defending, completely calm and the quality of his return is incredible. He is also extremely flexible in his game, which is facilitated by his ability to anticipate his rival’s moves. That is why I think he is a much more versatile player than I was and he is also much more athletic.”

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
Yeah. Djokovic is mentally one of the most ridiculously tough players in this open era. The guy has survived 3 MPs, 2x against Federer, 1x against Nadal. He's quality and I like him to grab more slams to make things more interesting.

Same level at the moment but we all know he's going to leave them behind sooner or later.

Re: Has Djokovic surpassed Stefan Edberg and/or Boris Becker?
If everything stays like this, tournament wise, statistics is close in some terms...but,the thing we know is that in time some Novak stats will get better...
I mean,Edberg has 72 weeks at number 1,Djokovic still has 65,but he is guaranteed number 1 spot for few months,at least, which means that he will surely surpass Edberg in that term, while in other stats he is even or better then those two...
Other things is that they all have one Slam missing(RG),while Becker and Edberg won more times "unofficially" most prestigious tournament-Wimbledon,which in some people's mind have more value then AO for example...
