Re: Almagro out of Davis Cup, Spain suddenly vulnerable
can see ESP losing
without doubt one of Fed's most idiotic decisions not to play DC this year
they'd have coasted to the title had they beaten CZE in 1st round

Re: Almagro out of Davis Cup, Spain suddenly vulnerable
Spain definitely vulnerable. Though if they win with their top 4 singles players missing, that says a lot about their depth.... They're favourites for the doubles but Granollers is pretty bad right now so him winning a singles tie and GGL winning one too seems tough...

Re: Almagro out of Davis Cup, Spain suddenly vulnerable
Milos will probably win his two matches, but Dancevic wouldn't win an important DC match even if his life depended on it and Pospisil is coming off illness. Too bad Levine isn't allowed to play, it will likely come down to the doubles.

Re: Almagro out of Davis Cup, Spain suddenly vulnerable
Will come down to the doubles tie in my opinion. so they are not toast. chances of any of their singles player losing to anyone but Roanic is lower than Roanic losing.

ESP losing this would be bad luck for the teams in the World Group playoffs in December.

As long as Spain is the away team, Rafa won't play.

Re: Almagro out of Davis Cup, Spain suddenly vulnerable
This is good news for Canada, though I'm not sure it changes thing that much. Milos could have beaten Almagro anyway, and Frank will probably lose to GGL anyway.
It does give us security in Milos' 2 points however, I'd be shocked to have him lose to either GGL or Granollers at home. Also does give Frank 2 chances at winning, he was never beating Mugro. I could see him win 1 of those if he's playing well and doesn't choke.
Helps a little but will still likely come down to doubles.

A spartan indeed. Now he wants to test himself in front of a bunch of chair-throwing savages.
The guy likes challenges, nobody can't deny that.

No, you will still have to beat USA next round.
Not so easy with Isner / Bryan Bros.
