Boredo doesn't touch Legenda.

This. Peak Ljubicic is better than Robredo by far and superior to Ferrer too.
He led Croatia to a Davis Cup title with Ancic playing his 2 singles and the doubles too. He could've won more if he wasn't playing with Federer in his prime.
Ferrer isn't a threat to the TOP 4. He does challenge Murray when they play. He beat him at RG last year and almost gets 2-0 in Wimbledon, but against the other 3 is awful. Never beat Federer and lately he's been horrible against Nadal and Djokovic (In 2007 he beat them a few times, but since then...)
For the moment he deserves the TOP 4 since he beats the ones under him and Berdych and Tsonga are very inconsistent, but as soon as Delpo steps up his game a bit he will be the N5. I expect this to be happening at the end of this year.

Re: Is Ferrer the most undeserving top 5 player ever?
Rainer Schuettler has been top 5, FFS . There is no such thing as an undeserving top 5 player.
He is worse than the top 4 and a lot better than the rest of the field, deal with it.

Mocking Schuettler, are we? I seem to remember him playing a Grand Slam final, how many of those has Ferrer played? Exactly...

Re: Is Ferrer the most undeserving top 5 player ever?
just for reference, tonnes of players have made Top 4/5 since 1973 - Kiefer, Bjorkman, Clerc, Novak, Jarryd, Forget, Gilbert, Solomon, Arias, Dibbs, G. Mayer, Ramirez, Rusedski, Gottfried, etc just for starters.
all obviously deserved it (not that the word "deserve" is useful in any sense here), but the point is - do people know all of these guys' careers? or is "ever" actually the past 6/7 years?
I mean, tbh, my vote goes to Jiro Sato.

Finals are irrelevant if you don't win them.

Only one person who actually thinks this is fact, and that's you.

At least he played them.
But yeah, Rainer had like what, one good year?

Yup although he also reached the Monte Carlo final in 2004 (coming through a very tricky draw) and a Wimbledon semi final in 2008. He's not as bad as Boredo.

You started watching tennis in 2006, no?
The thing I wonder is why do we idolize players with talent but no ability to maximize it and vilify players that a lacking talent but find a way to maximize their abilities. It seems backwards to me.

Re: Is Ferrer the most undeserving top 5 player ever?
Oh dear God, I'm not exactly a good ol boy on here, but the average IQ on this forum has dropped 30 points since I joined. I think Lenders is probably just trolling, but it astounds me the number of people who seriously buy what he says.
No. The world # 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 are clearly worse than he is. The #5 is injured. If you are the 4th best player, you deserve the #4 spot, that's that

Points from small tournaments: Ferrer 1890, del Potro 1840 (+50)
But it's okay, because the top 10 playing more is good for the game!

He had roughly the same tournament as Ferrer this year, similar efforts

Re: Is Ferrer the most undeserving top 5 player ever?
I think maybe the answer is Kevin Curren, but of course I can be forgetting some players.
