ivanisevic and rusedski throttled roddick without great returns. yes, roddick played so cleverly on fast grass. the fat Texan WAS lucky he could function with his weight gain & knee tendinitis.

The fact that more people voted Almagro than Simon amuses me. Simon actually likes kinda fast courts, surprisingly. Almagro is terrible on fast courts

On speedier courts, big 4 become more liable to be blown off before the Round of 8. Most Top 100 players on the tour are great at attacking but what they are not great at is sustaining the defense of high ranked players and delivering two or three killer blows in the same point. That's where slowness comes into picture. Pinktards acting victims of homogenization is bordering derangement. 17 grandslams would have remained just a dream on slick surfaces.

Has anyone actually measure the so called slowness of the court, or is this just an empty talk based on subjective opinions?!
I mean, we are talking about pure physics here, speed is a measurable physical phenomenon...
The Hawkeye system can definitely prove or disprove this.
Or the frame-by-frame video analysis...
Does anybody actually have some hard data on this matter?

General consensus is that the surfaces of most major tournaments in the world were slowed down heavily between 2001-2004 allowing baseliners to ascend to the top. Which is true. The slow trend has continued to date. With the Big 4 defending better than any players in history, the surfaces appear to be playing even more slower and driving some tards nuts. The surfaces are just the same as they were in 2003 or 2004. The top losers are lesser ranked players.

Doing some basic math, a ball traveling at 120 km/h takes 0.75 seconds across the 25 meters of the court.
But it usually touches the surface of the court in the last quarter to fifth of the path. Had it not been slowed down, that is 0.15 seconds
So, if surface has any effect, it is only in that last part of the path.
Taking the half of the speed away would only add 0.15 seconds to the total travel time.
A heavy topspin can have more effect then this, for god's sake!
