It is a bit of a two-edged sword for someone like Federer. He has definitely benefited from it in the past because his game has been much steadier than most of his opponents and as a result he has been able to maintain a massive amount of consistency. When Federer is playing bad he can still outgrind 99% of players on the tour. OTOH these days it really hampers his effectiveness because he is more erratic than his key opponents. A faster surface with lower bounce plays more to his main strengths (being big serve, powerful shots, net ability etc.). If the courts were faster I think Federer would have been slightly less dominant during his prime, but would probably wouldn't have had such a big drought in his later years.

Nadal has benefited massively, I don't think anyone would deny it. With faster surfaces he would still be a top player and still be successful off clay, but he probably would still be regarded mostly as a clay court specialist and wouldn't have a CGS.

Djokovic I think would probably be a very different player if the courts were different so it is hard for me to say what he would be like. If he played like he currently does, then there is no doubt that he would be less successful.

The big losers are players like Berdych and Tsonga, whose power games are phenomenal but they just don't get the rewards on courts that suck all the sting out of their shots. Without the defence to compensate for that they just aren't regular contenders for big titles.

Tsonga has been screwed, with faster surfaces he would have won some grand slams by now

Faster courts would force Andy to become more offensive earlier on in his career and he certainly has the physique and technique to play a good all-court game. This leads me to think that if all other things would have remained the same (f.i. Murray starting to train under Lendl only in 2012), he would be sitting on more than one major right now.
Spot on.

It's impossible to tell how these guys games would look if they had developed them under different conditions. For that reason, it is unfair to judge the top players for being too defensive; their games are a product of aiming to win under the current conditions.

but you were probably being sarcastic bro sooo

BTW, On faster surfaces, Clownga would have to win every set in tie break, because he wouldn't be breaking even WTA players.
