Only one HC slam 1982-87, AO was played on grass at the time, so Lendl's were consecutive. Lendl managed nine in a row in USO but his HC streak stopped in 1988 AO.

Nice to hear some honest claim from Fed fan...

Novak never got a proper respect from tennis world for his achievement..from the begining he was third wheel, young cocky arogant player who dare to disturb great duopolly. Give other fanbases reason to hate him from the start. Western medias and rich sponsors try best to push him off...

Lack of stamina, health issue, medical timeouts threaten to ruin his career... pass through the hard times in 2009-2010, but rise from the ashes and become a real champion.

I never expect from fed and rafa fanbases to like him, he is tough opponent for their guys, but I think that they always respect his tennis skills, and will to fight to the very end.

Maybe now we dont have a large picture, but this era will be consider as the best era in tennis, dont think that some better players emerge in years to come...from some distance, we will miss Fed, Rafa, Novak, Muzza...that is a hell of a game to remember.

Fed is old, Nadal is part time player specialising in clay, so I expect Eggovic to clean up slams starting from this year until Tomic work his talent.

Djokovic would be rubbish on fast grass for a start, with his two handed backhand and his problems with inconsistent bounce and pace. It's only since modern surfaces that players have been able to play a game that will maximise success for 12 months of the year.

You will see - pretty much every top player will get a CGS, and they will all amass more titles than most of the all-time greats of the game. The whole slam counting system will be meaningless.

If he keeps getting similar draws like the AO and USO, he might as well be given a WC to the final.

The fact is, success in DC is largely determined by what country you come from or play for in the first place, which most players haven't had any control over.

I used to hate novak till the 2012 AO.But that final turned it for me.

Got to respect this guy.Had to deal with 2 all time greats i.e Fed and Rafa on his way to be the No 1 player.

Probably will take a major chunk of the slams in the next 3 years.10+ slams seems very much possible for him.

Every player has the same opportunity so shouldn't it then be easier for his rivals also to be more consistent?

good post by OP, fanboys throwing dirt at eachother messes it up again, NID.

Novak is a fantastic player, especially on hardcourts. He deserves all the praise he gets.
