Re: Current World No1's most feared opponent?
He doesn't fear many people at all, I think I can list them all in fact
Outdoor HC: 1 Murray 2 Federer
Indoor HC: 1 Murray 2 Federer 3 Ferrer 4 del Potro
Clay: 1 Nadal 2 Federer 3 Ferrer
The exception is grass, where I imagine he's on guard before every match vs a top 16 player, he really is not great on that surface, thank God for Nadal's level in the 2011 final

Ferrer vs del Potro
Points from slams and WTF: Ferrer 2920, del Potro 1390 (+1530)
Points from Masters: Ferrer 2160, del Potro 1520 (+640)
Points from small tournaments: Ferrer 1890, del Potro 1840 (+50)
But it's okay, because the top 10 playing more is good for the game!

Re: Current World No1's most feared opponent?
If he'd "fear" anyone it would be Federer.
He knows very well that he was just points away losing all his most glorious wins...

I doubt he fears anyone, but in terms of problems, it's Murray.

He doesn't fear anyone.
But his toughest opponent is Federer.

Did you guys even see USO 2010 and USO 2011? Cuz I was there. In person in the upper deck. 95% of the crowd was for Fed and we all ditched and walked out after he lost. (and after Nole ripped off his shirt)
|
They were fucking close matches.
Federer also broke his steak at RG2011 and prevented a desired FO win. He beat him at Wimbledon2012 as well, and removed him as #1 for a short time.
I like the rivalry, I think it's a healthy one, you really don't know who will win.

Yeah, I agree. When Federer is in GOAT mode, Nole struggles to find his own rhythmл

Re: Current World No1's most feared opponent?
I think if federer is playing his A game, he troubles djokovic the most. It is silly to believe that professional athletes are "afraid" of other athletes (with the exception of the federer/nadal rivalry. Federer is absolutely intimidated of nadal).
Djokovic seems to play very comfortably against nadal (atleast in recent years). Murray is probably the easiest for him to beat.
I still an on-fire federer is a 60-40 or 70-30 advantage fed.

Re: Current World No1's most feared opponent?
Murray on hard without a doubt, their last 3 matches on the surface have seen maximum sets, a victory for Mugray in the bo5 final, match points in another etc etc.
On grass Federer seems best suited although Noles level is season was low and indorer showed up, Murray and Nadal should be too strong for him also as seen by the Olympic semi although Nadal's walkabout at the 2011 final was one of the strangest things that year, I believe it was probably just a one off.
On clay its clearly Nadal.

Re: Current World No1's most feared opponent?
I think now Murray is harder to beat for Djokovic than Fed.

“Does Djokovic resemble myself?” Agassi said. “No, he is even better. He defends really well, while I struggled more in that element of the game. Novak looks totally relaxed when defending, completely calm and the quality of his return is incredible. He is also extremely flexible in his game, which is facilitated by his ability to anticipate his rival’s moves. That is why I think he is a much more versatile player than I was and he is also much more athletic.”
