Leo Mayer dropped some points from a CH title last year, which let Richard increase to #26. If he wins a live (singles) rubber, he will increase to #24. If he wins two live (singles) rubbers, he will rise to #23.
There are still some positives to take from this year, despite all the injuries. He had a very good tie-break record: won 16: lost 6, and even with a bad back and bad shoulder/ bad everything else, he still managed to end up no. 36 on the number of aces served.
From what I remember last year his return stats were much better on both 1st and 2nd serve, so I think the injuries this year perhaps meant he was not match-fit and sharp enough to return at his best.
