“Does Djokovic resemble myself?” Agassi said. “No, he is even better. He defends really well, while I struggled more in that element of the game. Novak looks totally relaxed when defending, completely calm and the quality of his return is incredible. He is also extremely flexible in his game, which is facilitated by his ability to anticipate his rival’s moves. That is why I think he is a much more versatile player than I was and he is also much more athletic.”

srsly
I wonder about something else actually. How come they didn't discover this disease on him earlier?
If anything he'd have had the incredible stamina he's genetically blessed with earlier and not have underwent this transformation.Noone would've doubted.
I seriously and honestly hope your friend is okay, because this is also a serious disease not to joke with.

Trying to read through all of this nonsense makes my head hurt. There is so much stupidity in this thread alone that I begin to question the educational system worldwide

The problem lies mostly with people who are so blinded in their idolizing that they become bitter, biased, and just plain dumb. This goes for all the "tards": just put a friggin cork in it. jeez

i don't have a friend with bulimia...

Djokovic's illness is a good part of the whole thing actually. I personally do not believe in fairy tales about the little ill, but talented kid, who suddenly mid career heals and becomes undisputed #1 coz of superior fitness to anyone else.

The same way i was laughing at 30% of the biathlon tour having asthma few years ago...

Yeah, this is my (admittedly biased, but no more biased than fans of other players) view too. I'm not saying it's impossible he's up to something else. But on the other hand, is it really that difficult to believe that he got tired of playing the perpetual #3 and consequently much more serious about his fitness in mid-2010?

this sounds to me almost like - if it's not forbidden yet then i can use whatever i use

I can't wait for his biography in 5 years revealing the secret, must be smth really interesting, as he's pretty much suggesting what i was laughing about few posts back - donkey cheese, turtle blood, snake venom, whatever funky magical recovery substance.

He's pretty much insinuating that he has an out of ordinary special way to recover, which he keeps secret in order not to be copied.

Anyone with a suggestion? Loads of homemade honey? Slivovica?

He as never like Simon to start with. Nole had many problems derived from his breathing and allergies as every well-informed tennis fan knows. He fixed those problems, changed his diet, changed his training regime, he did many things to become the athlete he is now. Whatever you imply you should be banned from this forum ASAP.

Mate, if it is just a matter of decision, why wouldn't all the others be tired already being where they are?

They all are, that's why most of them train at the maximum of a human's physical limit. Many of them are doing it already when Nole was a bit lazier.

Assuming he had a huge reserve that he just decided to use at one point is not logical.

Borg has been a phenomenon, having an extreme low heart rate, some crazy physical capabilities and his success was based on these as well as his other qualities ofc.

But until National Geographic comes up with the insane newly found genetic code in Djokovic's blood, that allows him to never sleep, eat only bananas (just examples) and run 100m for 3 seconds, i'm not buying the miracle secret recovery.

Maybe i'm not a beliedjer, but i've been raised to question things around me

it is not like he could not finish a five setter before. he did, quite a few of them. his 2007 wimbledon was particularly gruelling.
gluten intolerance is a very tricky thing. had a friend who had it for years, manifested itself through various, seemingly unrelated and quite different, manifestations. its symptoms can be very mild, but can kick in at any time on somewhat stronger level. at the very top in tennis, all it takes is that you get diarrhoea in AO QF, like he did against tsonga.

as for simon injury, again - watch 3rd and 4th set. his first serve was around 130, second around 100. go to the livescore thread, will see people commenting about that and about the fact that he appears to be injured for certain. as you might know (if you have played anything competitively), playing through injury means that you have to compensate, other body parts take over, get overloaded. that all complicates recovery even if you finish victorious and even if the injury miraculously disappears (and it did not, as can be seen from the way he played and served against muzza).

Do you know Simon has a lingering knee problem? I guess you don't since you also don't know Ferrer beat Djokovic on HC in 2007 and 2011.

Is it possible that before he found out he is allergic to gluten, he could not train as hard? So it's a double blow to his fittness? Also, he changed his trainer to his existing one who is the former trainer of Thomas Muster.

After reading a few more of your posts, I recognised you do not really wanted to discuss this but make jokes about everything without any knowledge. That's the only way you can makes jokes about Ciliac disease abd bulimia.

The problem here is that Djokovic and Nadal are only that great because of Federer, I have nothing against their style of play, they both have good technic both are fighting really hard, but it's interesting only as long as there is someone playing totally different, with Fed gone, it will get even more boring, and as a sport it will loose a lot. Few years ago if you had a big day you could have easily challenged top 4 guys, now it's almost impossible, the level of stamina is so good that you just can't do anything, there are so may boring sports like marathon running and cycling, where you can switch the tv on for the last 5mins and you haven't missed anything, will be the same with tennis soon, why to watch that grinding for 3+ hours, not a single element of surprise. I'm totally not a fan of womens tennis, but I must say that looking at the current WTA top 10 it's much more interesting, the mix of the styles and the element of suprise is there if only they would't scream that much during the points.
