Tough match for Melzer today, I hope he will be back on court soon for the doubles. I was wondering how serious they would play the doubles because of their ambitions in singles, but now I see they are both also in the mixed draw.
Not really the way I wanted him to win, though, he only got the break in the 4th set because of an outrageous bad call against Kubot. I don't expect them to overrule close calls, but that one wasn't even close and it was right under his nose.
What annoyed me was that the commentator didn't even realize how bad this call was. He was rather critisizing Kubot for the complaining. I think Philipp felt robbed too often before, also at 15-0 in that game, so that he just took the advantage in that situation.
It's bad but he would have won anyway. He was already playing better then and was really good in the fifth.
